We Are Blood

This book didn't hold any punches in the beginning. We start out with our FMC losing one of the guys she's supposed to be with and it was so sad. Even without having any attachment really to the characters, it was a sad moment. I liked this book. It wasn't one that would probably stick in my memories for long but it was a good read. I think the other series I read from this author was definitely more memorable. I'm hoping that the rest of this series picks up and takes off like the others. So far Riva has won over her men but the events of the last few pages may well change everything. We will see how that goes in the next book.     As for the spice,  well she only is able to be with one of her guys but it was a nice build up to those two finally getting together even though the moment was ruined right after.  It was probably a solid 3 out of 5 moment.    I liked reading about Shalli and Tim!! Though they had to face a lot of classism it was good to see that those in power realize that they have to remain humble. It was very saddening to hear about both of the mothers dying but great that they were able to connect the families together when no one else would have thought to. At first I thought we weren't going to get a continuation of Erich and Melli but was pleasantly surprised when in part 2, they returned! More had been revealed about their l past lives and what happened to their parents. Though there is more that we don't know and as they embark upon this new journey, there will be even more to learn and see.       The spice in this book was more along three lines of a cleaner romance. The scenes were short and not very spicy. Secondly one you could read or listen to with a straight face. No fanning or early lunch needed. Overall I'd give the spice in this book a 2 out of 5. Nothing to write home about. Th
