Real Life vs Reel Life
Do you like reading books that coincide with your real life? Maybe you were reading a romance book and one of the main characters happen to have the same career or job that you have or have had in the past. Does this make you more likely to read the book or do you find yourself comparing everything to what is in the book? The most common job that I had was as someone working in a grocery store. With most of the popular books being bIllionaire romance, I know it's probably less common now to find books were the main characters have basic careers. On the off chance that you do find a book like that. Does it make the story more interesting and relatable or does it make the book lean more towards a DNF for you? I think that it would be very interesting to see that a character had a job that I could relate to. So whenever I come across a character who has a customer service type job, I always feel for them.
