Holy Blood - ARC Review

Pretty sure if you were to look up the definition of spice in the dictionary there would be an image of this book somewhere. Whew it was hot. Leonid and Kalina couldn't keep their hands off each other!! Storywise, I was slightly surprised that we didn't touch more on the trauma that Kalina must have felt after being kidnapped and held captive for as long as she was.  She is a strong woman who falls a little bit into the darkness after being saved. I will say there isn't much development of the characters after this. I think Leonid was really the only one.  He was able to fix the broken things in the Bratva and grew into an amazing father. That's probably the most beautiful thing in this book. Also I love the changes that were made with the annotations for the Russian in this book. It was much easier to digest this time. I kept forgetting they were in Russia and not America. I wish there was some details about the country more, so that it sticks out.  ...

Captive Shadows- ARC Review

So, at first, I was not going to finish this book because by 43% I was already like where the heck is this story going. I was so shocked and flabbergasted by what was going on that I just had to keep going. I started thinking about it out loud and it just seemed to get crazier and crazier by the minute. It was like watching a soap opera unfold. Like....one of the crazy reality shows that's on tv. After spending some days to ponder on my feelings about this book, I think that while the story wasn't something that I traditionally read and like..it did it's job. I'm not even sure what to rate this book. After finishing the story, I just know that it is a book that is going to stick with me simply because it was so just outrageous. I guess I'm going to give it a 3 because, I'm DEFINITELY not going to forget the things nor the characters that were in this book. I would tell someone going into reading this to just...read it for the craziness because...this was an ...

Under the Moon- Review

I really enjoyed the first 50 or so percent of this book.... and then the rest happened. This could have stopped at the half way area and been an amazing book. It just felt like there was too many ideas and the book didn't want to end. Like there was literally 3 different stories in this one story. It could have ended after the first one and the next 2 things could have been it's own book with things more drawn out and some other things thrown in. Instead our FMC was kidnapped 3 times and there was everyone under the sun trying to make her their mate. It was just...a lot. I felt myself getting exhausted by all that was happening. I just wanted it to end,  meanwhile the beginning was so good! It just could have ended almost 200 pages earlier.       The spice used some....interesting wording. Like cavern and manhood. It was very interesting to say the least. It took me out of it at times and it was very... basic. Like it tried but it just wasn't all th...

Demon's Deal

This is going to be a short review because I don't like to bash an authors hard work. This book just really wasn't for me. It was advertised as being spicy and I guess if you only read YA then this would be considered spicy but it definitely was the furthest thing from spicy. I did not like this book. It took me awhile to get through it and after awhile I ended up skipping pages upon pages of the book because it felt like reading filler. The most interesting thing about this book was the story behind what happened to Calla. I was definitely invested in figuring out why she was taken and her memory was wiped. It was a nice reveal at the end but it being the cause of their tension at the end just didn't really hold water for me. I was interested in Magnus and Vaggo by that point. I'm tempted to see if we get more from them.      The spice was nothing to write home about. It was definitely there but I feel like the author didn't really w...

A Twisted History

I currently am unsure of how to feel about this book. The FMC is smart but dumb at the same time. She's privileged, which allows her to make silly mistakes. She's computer smart but also.... kinda technology stupid? Does that even make sense? As the daughter of a mob boss she's had the ability to do what she wants, when she wants,  however she wants. She's smart enough with computers that she wrote a crazy code that is the crux of the problem in this book and yet.... she didn't think to ditch her phone when she was hiding from her dad? Like, he still had your number, he can still track you. Then on top of that she also kept her car. Which pride wouldn't allow her to just dump. I get it, it has sentimental value but girl,  your dad and everyone in your world will know its you as soon as they see your car. So instead of getting a different car, she drives that one around after her dad attempted to kill her. Then is surprised when she's tracked ...
