Is it The End?

Image
Again, Ivy Asher is NOT. MISSING. She is hitting on all cylinders with this series and I'm here for all of it ok. All. OF. IT. There is one book left in this series and I'm trying really hard to not binge it right now. This book was full of so many feels. From the beginning tk the end. I don't know about anyone else but I was kinda mad at the men for not believing in her. They didn't have to welcome Enoch and the gang in but they could have at least not made it so painful. After they got over that situation it was cute to see the reunion of the guys with Vinna. We finally learn what Enoch and the gang is and it'll be interesting to see how Becket reconciles everything. I really want to see what this village/town/city of sentinels is. If she ends up being like the missing leaders daughter or something that'll be crazy. I think the next book is the last one in the series since in this book, the big bad got ended. Yeah, they finally killed Adriel i

It's All Coming Together

Image
Everything is finally coming together for the gang!! They have a home to call their own and they are starting to flesh out the relationship that they all want with each other. Seeing them as a foursome has been so nice. Also watching them navigate the wild and crazy world of magic and sexuality together has been very interesting. From seeing Civan navigate being comfortable with himself and shedding the chains of his former thought process to Xel realizing that caring for others doesn't have to come with pain. They are unlearning decades of wrong behaviors in order to make themselves and their partners truly happy. I've enjoyed watching it as well as seeing Jade come into her own when it comes to being a mage.        The spice in this series never disappoints! I'm always left a little bothered and a lot hot!! So I will definitely give this book a 4 out of 5. There is tons of M/M as well as group love that happens through out and I'm here for all of it. T

Being Protected

This was a good read. I enjoyed reading a book with a black woman as the FMC!! Definitely a refreshing change of pace from what I had been reading for weeks. I enjoyed the funny relatable aspects of this book and the down to earth tone. Now, I wish that 95% of it wasn't a tease and that they got to the meaty parts of the relationship sooner than later. The thing that was an issue that they had to get over wasn't so much of an issue to me which is why I think they got over it quickly but because they did, the book ended quickly. I wanted more with them. This book could have been 200 more pages and I would have enjoyed it. I definitely think I'd read more from this author. I'd heavily encourage her to add more smut though.        With that being said the smut in this book was prob definitely a 2 out of 5. There was a lot of teasing and really only 1 spicy scene in the whole book. Which sucked because the chemistry of the characters was off the chart

Lovers and Friends

This book was short and sweet!! Just like this review will be!! If you're looking for something quick and to the point then this book is it. This book moved quickly along and our coyple finally were able to admit their feelings for each other. After some misunderstanding of course. I enjoyed the fun happy go lucky vibe of this book.       The spice was nice nothing to hot but it was good. I'd give it a 2 out of 5. Overall the story accomplished what it needed so I'd give it a 3 out of 5. I'm interested in the side character stories as much as the main characters. By side characters, I mean Trent. Is recommend this to others who want a nice quick read.

Short and Kinda Sweet

Image
This was a very short read and was very face paced. I don't really mind insta love but I do wish that this world didn't feel like it needed to be fleshed out more. There were so many creatures and little things that were so interesting but because the boom was short they were elaborated on. So much so that some of them just seemed like they came outta no where. I liked the couple and the funny moments that happened in the story. My biggest gripe though, was that the smut scenes were like 1 or 2 liners. There was build up but the moments weren't long enough to make me satisfied.        The characters that were introduced in this book were very interesting! So much so that I can't wait to read more about Rohan, MacKenzie and even Marybell!! In that aspect the book gets a 3 out of 5 for the characters. As for the spice....I'd give it a 2 out of 5. It was a let down. Overall I give this book a 2 out of 5. The spice really let me down. Surprisingly en

What's One More?

Image
I've really enjoyed this series so far, even though there is so much teasing and restraint happening. Seeing Vinna navigate so much of the craziness in here life has definitely been entertaining. This book picks up right where things left off in the previous book. It was painful seeing Vinna go through the grief of losing her mentor/ father figure in Talon. Luckily the guys were right there to help her. But just like life, the trials and tribulations wait for no one. She continues having to navigate the crazy world of the casters as she tries to figure out who is for her and who is against her. There are so many strings dangling in this story, that its going to be nice to see how the author wraps every one of them up. By the end of this book we wonder if there is another female sentinel who belongs to another group of men we meet in the caster community.         I'm very interested to see where everything goes. Lachland needs saving, the other Sentinel that has

Warning!! Super spoiler review!!      Yes, I put a super spoiler warning on this one. I am extremely upset by how this book turned out. It stated out great and got progressively worse. If I'm at 50% or more and the characters haven't banged yet... it's not gonna happen, be FTB or glossed over. It's ok if it's a slow burn it a series focused on these characters but I knew that wasn't the case with this book. So after checking and seeing 80% and nothing, I was disappointed already. Not to mention I started skipping paragraphs. The beginning had me hooked!! It was so well done. FMC is a regular girl helping her family in a time where women were only supposed to be meek and cook. She's brazen, a huntress and could care less about girly endeavors. Loved it. Meets the MMC and he likes her for her differences. At first I thought it was going to be a competition between her and the other women for most of the book with her winning out about a littl

Family Secrets

This book was just what I needed!! I felt myself going into a slump until I saw this book on my TBR. It wasn't too long and had an interesting blurb. And man, was thus the perfect choice!! This book was funny, fast paced and had the perfect amount of steam!! The plot works to fulfill a series while also allowing this first book to stand alone AND be an introduction. I almost couldn't put this one down!! I love it when I pick up and book and don't want to put it down. I felt invested in whether or not these two got together and I had strong emotes about the not so good people in their lives. There is so much more that can be added to this world and i feel like each book after is just going to build and expand on the previous one.        I would recommend this book to others. It might be awhile before I circle back to the second book but I enjoyed this one. The spice was perfect!! Spicy but it didn't flame the pages with how hot it was and it didn't

Lucky Number Seven

I love omegaverse books. When I discovered this genre it was like the fix I didn't even know I needed!! I discovered it as a possessive, alpha man who needed his Omega woman. Usually very focused on knocking her up. Lots of biting and posturing. Loved it!! The man always had something to learn, usually that strength didn't get you everything and the woman usually came into her power. Whether it was sexually or mentally or even better, both! Recently, I've seen things trending to Reverse Harem omegaverse books. Now yall know I love a good reverse Harem book, but within the omegaverse world...it seems kinda weird. It defeats the purpose of what omegaverse is. Now I'm bringing up this topic in relation to this book but I've felt this way about other books like this as well. Now to start the actual review so you know where I'm coming from.        I didn't like this book. It was all sex with no plot. Too many alphas in a pack with no reasoning. Th

Shedding The Old Skin

It's been awhile since I've been in the world of Isa and Rafe, so it took me a minute to remember what had happened prior. These characters stuck with me and I had a total recall moment! This book definitely has stuck in keeping with the others in that it's spicy and dark. The past is still haunting both Rafe and Isa in ways neither of them could have predicted. Finding out the secrets that have bound them to each other, even before they knew it, was interesting. For a second I was a little scared we were going to find out they were related but thank goodness that was not the case!! Watching Isa grow from the wall flower we met in the first book to the strong woman she is becoming had been refreshing. I also didn't realize that so little time had passed from the first book to this one!! It feels like it's been months of not close to a year but it really hasn't!!          This book has quite a few triggers that some might want to check into befo

Angels, Demons and Vampires!! Oh My!!

Image
I have so many questions regarding this book!! There are so many things left open!! Fair warning this is a spoiler review. Lilith, does not know who her father is until the end when she gets her memories back....she has brothers....are they also demons whose memories were taken? If not what happened to their dad since, I believe they're older than she is. Did no one notice the cat not aging? Lilith is 20+ years old and most cats don't live that long.. so no one thought it strange that the cat was always ok? The fact that in the test they almost called her Mother.... I'm speechless. I'm here for this Harem though and can't wait til she has Kai and Blaise.          I enjoyed this book even though the beginning was very slow. The second half of the book is where all the action happens... literally. She finally gets with atleast Thaddeus and then with Aziel. I'm interested to learn more about what happened that she was killed and reborn. What's the

A Badass Warrior

Image
Vinna came in swinging, literally in this book!! Vinna is a badass fighter who thanks to her powers can fight with even the most stalwart warrior. Her cross to bear in this book is that she doesn't know who her family is since she was an orphan. She learns she's actually a caster when she meets up with a group of paladins. The shocks keep coming as she meets an uncle who never knew she was out there to realizing she wasn't just a non magical person. Then for the kicker she realizes that the new society she finds herself involved in is polyandrous. The secrets and betrayal has just begun for Vinna and then things get really bad when she gets kidnapped and finds her mentor beat up and near death. He unfortunately dies and that's how the book ends. There's some more craziness that happens in between but I don't want to be too spoilery.          I enjoyed reading a book where the woman is not a damsel in distress but her men do feel pretty us

A Queen Fit for a King

Image
I was very angry with Enosh in the beginning of this book and up til about half way when he finally realized that he was being played for a fool. Though I also felt bad for him since everything was going from bad to worst. Luckily, he was able to see the error of his ways and we get to see him fighting for and with Ada instead of against her. Seeing their love grow was beautiful.        The heartbreak that I felt for Ada throughout this book was great. She didn't deserve the rough end of the bargain she seemed to keep getting. Finally she was going to be a mom only to be murdered right before any of it came to fruition was so frustrating. Then being tortured by the man she essentially loved was icing on the cake. Finding out the truth about Njala and her pregnancy was crazy and made me wanna cry. Not because I felt bad for her but for what it meant for Ada at the time. Ada grew so much in this book. From someone who was kind and allowed things to happen outs

The Misunderstood King

Image
It's hard to say a God is misunderstood but Enosh definitely is. The embodiment of all that people feat, death. He has seen suffering on a monumental scale. When I started this book, I didn't know if I'd like him or if I was supposed to even like him based on the interactions he had with our FMC, Adelaide. Yes this name has once again appeared in a dark themed book that I'm reading. There is definitely some non con/dub con in this book, which is why I didn't know if I should like him. Like Ada, I eventually started to like him the more that I read of his story and what has made him the way he is. Watching their relationship blossom to where it was by the end of the book made the things that happened at the end that much more frustrating and sad. There are def a lot of trigger warnings needed for this book but it was very enjoyable.      I would recommend this book to those who don't mind dub con/non con and enjoy dark reads. The spice in this book

Finally Getting Her Men

Image
In the conclusion of Sadie's story we are finally able to learn more about her and what her portion of the prophecy is. Sadie was a created being who is a mix of both Shifter and Fae and blessed by the Moon Goddess. Even though she's definitely mentally unwell with how she handles everything tossed her way she finally gets a happily ever after of sorts. The men declare their love for her and she finally l loses her V card!! Through it all they each get a sense of security that was much needed. Even though the book ends with a cliffhanger for the next series, I hope go see more of Sadie and her men.         My main gripe with the story is I wanted more spice! I wanted more action with Sadie and each guy individually. I love that she lost her virginity to Xerxes in his Omega heat but I wanted to see her have some solo action with each one of the guys. It would have made the book that much better!! I laughed so much while reading this book!! I thoroughly enjoy bo

Medium Unwell

Image
This is a book after my own heart!! It gave me almost everything I could ask for. I laughed at so many different points in this book, at the characters, with the characters and for the characters. Many screenshotted quotes and memorable moments. This book gave me everything!! It is definitely shaping up to be a Reverse Harem, if that was not yet established. I like reverse Harem with omegas in them when it is done right. Other times I'm like....no. Hard no. This one, I don't even know which one of them I want to take her virginity finally. Idk if she can handle all of them at once, especially considering Jax...mmhmm.      Aside from my fawning over the word play, the story moved along nicely and it made the book not feel as long as it is. I like enjoying the journey. I like not being able to put a book down and when I reach the end, getting upset that it ended. This book and series has done that for me so far. I'd give it an overall 3.5 out of 5. The

Witchy Good Time

Image
This book started out rather slow and I had a time getting into but by around half way is when everything started picking up. The suspense and mystery of finding out what was going on was very interesting. I will say there were times when I just skim read the story but I was able to get through it. The spice is very minimal in this one.      The spicy times was very.....interesting. There was a time when I was wondering why you would get with someone who you just met without protection and it was never really brought up at all but it is what it is. I don't think if you're looking for something with extreme spice that this would be the boom for you. It felt more like an older person writing about spice with the correct wording i.e manhood and womanhood. Kinda wasn't my thing. I gave this book a 3 out of 5 simply because the mystery part was what hooked me. I'm probably not going to read the next one though.

The Devil You Know

Image
This book is quite heavy. There are a lot of things that are touched here and I want to take the time to discuss them a little bit in this review. I want to premise it by saying that I did enjoy this book but I had to take it in doses so it did take me awhile to finish this book. The main things I want to discuss can be triggering and to an extent touched me deeply. The child trafficking which is a main topic in this book is definitely a big topic and also morality. I think this book definitely test your morality when it comes to death and murder. So we will definitely touch on that, as well as some story points.         So first things first, let's talk about the child trafficking which is featured heavily in this book. As a parent myself this topic was very hard for me to read. This is every parents biggest fear. Someone taking your child and you never knowing what happens to them. This book made me think of all the ways that I could protect my child and all th

The End of a Series

Image
I always hate when a good series ends, though it's always better to finish early than to end late. I heavily dragged my feet on finishing this series because I loved it so much. The growth of the individual relationships and the group as a whole was done very well. I'm glad that they will finally get their opportunity to live out their lives together without fear. I can't say honestly if this book had dead spots or not because i was just stuck. I didn't want to finish it yall!! I finally have and I want to start back all over again *ugly cries*. This book had so many lows but was balanced with powerful highs. I thought I was gonna cry within the first 2-3 chapters!! Learning more about the god-bonds and how long they have been cycling was so sad. They really just wanted to be happy and together but instead had to watch as the other was mercilessly killed over and over again. There were so many deaths in this book!! Some of them hurt and others were de

Happily Ever After

Image
This story was a continuation of another book I read (check out my review of Twisted Love if you haven't read it yet). I love getting glimpses of characters that we've met before in a new characters book! I was hoping we'd get more of Ava and Alex especially since these books run concurrent. We did get some interaction with the old crew but it's mostly focused on Bridget and Rhys. Which I'm definitely not going to complain about because I loved their story. They both had issues they had to work through but they got pass them to be together. The whole thing with Rhys being a secret noble felt like it was going to be the play to clean up the loose ends but I'm glad it didn't have a major role in anything. The moment he said he didn't know who his father was, I saw it coming but I wasn't sure who they would wrangle to be the mystery father. It was very interesting to see who they chose and how it played into the dynamics of the story. Al

No More Trauma

Image
Another book down in my Cock-tober challenge and I couldn't be happier that this was one of the books that I choose to read!! I enjoyed the emotional depth in this book and the diversity. I know there are a lot of people who hate that (suck it up buttercup) but it made everything that much more relatable to me. Reading about the trauma that Rowan had to deal with as a child who watched his mother die and his father deal with that grief was very heartbreaking. How it shaped him and how he dealt with relationships was so beautifully done! In the same regard watching Zahra deal with the emotional backlash of a betrayal and a bad breakup was something that everyone can relate too because we've probably dealt with a jerkoff guy/lady at some point. Seeing them navigate their trauma together and make their relationship work, despite the many sabotages, was nice to see.       I will say if you're looking for spice early on in the book, this one isn't it. The spic

Of Tails and Tentacles

This story had a very unique start in that our poor FMC had cancer and was a double amputee at the beginning of the story. Through luck and providence she is able to get cured of the cancer and grow her legs back and then gets shipped off to another planet. Of course nothing can go according to plan. Faye (our FMC) is kidnapped from her transport vessel by space pirates who very nearly give her away to a vicious Alpha. Of course she learns all about dynamics when she's kidnapped and finds out that she is a highly prized Omega. Faye along with her new best friend Mara are caged and are pretty much told they are going to be kept as the ship broadmares. After being given to an abusive and powerful alpha Faye manages to escape the pirates with plans to return and save her friend Mara. She goes to their original destination Sathion and is able to meet up with a native who is an alpha, named Irikav. Of course she promptly goes into heat and spends that time with Irikav.

Toxic Poison

Image
This book was HEAVY on the smut. I'd say a good 80% of the book was them banging. Every guide book given to us to avoid being kidnapped and murdered was swiftly thrown out the window with this one. Alice, our FMC was down with whatever Granger said almost from the jump!! She out up a little fuss but not much. I felt like by 60% the book was pretty much over and I didn't understand why there was so much left. There was a little bit of lose ends left but not enough for 40% of the book. The last 15% was pretty much them rehashing the same thing over and over again. Our FMC didn't seem like she had any growth at all. Literally was still calling herself poison and toxic by the end of the book. I felt like more could have been done with how the sisters repaired their relationship. It was a footnote at the end. Wrapped up in 2-3 pages.        I was definitely disappointed in how this one ended. I liked the other ones so much. It makes me worry for the rest. The

The Self Crowned Queen

Image
When I started this book, I didn't know that it was essentially 3 novellas that were combined into one book. It definitely felt that way when you cross into the different parts of the book. Everytime a new part started there was a mini recap of what happened in the previous part. Which kind of took me out of the story at times. I wish this portion was edited so that it didn't feel like it was literally just 3 novellas thrown together. Onto the actual story, it wasn't bad but it also felt a little dragged out sometimes which again I feel like is due to the fact that it felt like they just copy pasted together the novellas instead of editing it to feel like one cohesive story. When I got to the 90% mark, the ending felt rushed and didn't do justice to the rest of the book that I spent all my time reading.         Now when it comes to spice, whew this part was definitely not lacking. In fact a majority of this book is spent with the characters in bed. I

Savage Love

Image
I would like to thank Reveal Romance Book Box for delivering this book to me!! I definitely could not put it down!! I really want to get the second book when it comes out! I enjoyed this book even though the ending was like wtf. So in this book we meet Kim and Morgan. Two people from totally different worlds who happen to meet at a party and manage to change each other's lives for the better. Kim has it rough, she's dealing with the death of her mother and the abandonment she feels from her father which really shapes her perspective on everything in her life. She never forms attachments and is quick to see the bad in everyone. Morgan helps her change and realize that you can't always lash out at people. When they have problems he's there to be the rock while she is the waves crashing against him. It's very nice to see how she was able to slowly open up.  On the other side Morgan has a privileged life and he hasn't let anyone get close to him in

For The Love of Demons

Image
This was a very hard to finish book. It didn't capture me like the previous book did. I'm not sure if there was too much going on or if this was just a transition book. Aria felt very lack luster in this one and there was no sense of urgency. Since they were on the hunt for the relics instead of defending from them being taken. Even still it has taken me just at a week to try to complete this book.         Aria is still on the hunt to find out who and what she is. The demons are still unsure of whether or not they want to keep her or if they are going to devour her soul before they return to hell. We are also introduced to what appears to be an angel. They've been visiting Aria randomly and then immediately disappearing before she can interact with them. Then she finally meets them. Based off the vibes she got from this person she definitely should have stranger dangered them immediately. Instead she allows them to touch her and maybe influence Sayah.

Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures!

Image
In this series by K.A. Tucker we get the billionaire bad boy Gabriel and the hard working and fiery Mercy. Mercy is stuck between a rock and a hard place when she meets Gabriel, who proves to be the answer to her prayers. Meeting Mercy, you feel bad for her immediately. She's in a terrible situation with her dad and her mom has already died from drugs. Those things alone make you already attached to her and then to hear the story that led to her dad being in jail.. it all just feels like it could happen to anyone. Definitely made her relatable. Gabriel on the other hand, is supposed to be this hard-core drug dealers play boy son but I definitely don't feel any danger from him or his brother Caleb. All we see from them is the playboy side and not the "I will kill you if you disrespect me" side. I guess that does go along with the fact that both brothers want to get out of the family business. Since we barely see them doing anything other than c

The One You Least Expect

Image
This book was definitely different. Instead of the gorgeous heroine who just didn't know she was pretty, we get a scarred and curve-less Sadie. The amount of times they say how scrawny she is was a bit much but I get it. We meet her right before her life changes. She is getting abused along side her sister by someone who "took her in". Instead of being a good person he happens to be a douchecano of epic proportions. In this world there is the ABO dynamics (alpha, beta and Omega). There are also fae that exist in a different realm and also apparently humans. We don't meet the humans but apparently we're in the world dominated by regulars AKA betas or Nulls. Poor Sadie is smaller than all the dynamics and sticks out with her white hair and red eyes. I felt happy for her being able to escape from the Dick. Unfortunately she went from being a nobody to someone everyone was looking at. In this world only men are alphas and out girl just so h

What Happens When We Die?

This is my first book from my Romance Reveal Book Box!! I was very excited to finally try a physical book again. It's been so long!! I must say it's not as glamorous as I remembered. Many a night I went to go to bed and read only to realize I was tormenting my partner with lights when he's used to us sleeping with lights off. Definitely made things a struggle. Though it felt nice to use a book mark again and to also see my progress as I went through the book. Well let's jump into the review!!         This book is the story of how Elle had a life changing experience and how it changed her perspective on how she was living her life. It also helped her change her serious and gloomy boss. I liked how Elle was able to stop and smell the roses despite the fact that she lived in New York and most people just wanted to speed through life. Her, meeting her boss in person and then essentially helping him change his neices life was very nice to see. Though

No Shame In Her Game

I'm in a conundrum about this book. This book is set in a purely made up world where most of the people haven't seen people of different races. They know they exist but don't seem to have much interaction with them. It's not placed in current day or have anything really to do with our reality. Yet the main character of this story is a black woman and the author is white. To me there doesn't seem to be a disrespectful feel to the story since her being black doesn't really affect the story. It's definitely something that is brought up but it's not like...a main plot point. Hence my issue since as a POC myself, I want to see black authors succeed writing stories that feel authentic. If we ok people who aren't POC to write books with POC main characters will that super saturate the genre with unauthentic stories? Therein lies my problem. I still enjoyed this book but it could definitely be problematic. With that being said let's get

Loving All of You

In Glow by Raven Kennedy, we pick up exactly where we left off, with Auren just killing Midas and everyone in the Fourth Kingdom gang coming to terms with everything that's happened. Let's just get into the review!! We get the perspective of many of the characters in this book. We get some of the background of Slade, we see the machinations of Queen Kaila, a small dose of Queen Malina- who is in fact, NOT dead, Osrik and Rissa. I could have done without seeing Osrik and Rissa's budding romance but I know it's going to be important somehow. Queen Kaila is a manipulative Monarch if there ever was one. It seems that all of the Monarchs have all gotten way too comfortable where they are and will do anything to stay in power. Including lying, which Queen Kaila manages to display throughout this book. It's hard to imagine that Slade is the only good ruler out of them all. But I guess after being born and raised in this life, since the rule is hereditary, makes it harder f
