Own Me - Review

I almost feel like we're at the end of an era. Reading this series has brought me so much enjoyment. I have been entertained, cried, laughed and loved with this couple and it will always be a book that is high on my series recommendations list. The spice is perfect and the story is any woman's fairytale. I'm glad that this will not be the final good byes to all the characters in this series! I re-read this at the perfect time since Ronan is getting his own story in Release Me. But that's excitement for another post, let's talk about this book. We find Henry and Abbi at a happy time in their lives...well what should be a happy time in their lives. Of course the world always has different ideas. So things start taking a weird turn when a random man calls Abbi and starts asking questions that they definitely don't want out there. On top of that, they return home to find a girl there who has an weird resemblance to someone that they know. I feel like I forgot abou...

A Fate of Wrath & Flame - Review

Image
I will say, that I was very surprised by this book. If you look at my recent reads, you'd think I'm on a binge of this author. It was purely unintentional. Going from Wolf Hotel to this is such a jarring change. Not only because one series is a contemporary romance and the other is a fantasy novel but because there is such a huge drop in the spice level and quality. I was expecting the same thing even though the genres are so different. I had to slog through this book. Romeria was getting on my last nerves for most of this book. Granted she is thrown into a crazy situation (like seriously, what the hell) but I really did have some serious eye rolls happening. I mean seriously, this situation is honestly quite wild. I'm not saying that I would handle it any better but idk. She was getting on my nerves. Actually a lot of them were getting on my nerves. The whole "let's keep secrets that are life changing" thing was gonna drive me up a wall and around the bend. ...

Surrender To Me -Review

Image
This book was absolutely amazing!! I loved watching how things were progressing for Abbi and Henry! Then add onto that we saw Abbi try something for Henry's sake and this time it's the reverse! These two have been slowly but surely getting deeper into their relationship. Even though neither one of them have officially claimed the other really. We all know what it is. Then on top of that we have the unfortunate death of Henry's father and we see him introduce Abbi to everyone and have her at his side. Everything that happened after this was crazy! Even though I read this before it is still just as startling a revelation to learn the truth. Siblings behaving badly in this book for sure! Finally we also get to see Abbi's mother slowly but surely start coming around to liking Henry. I was so glad for her. Also, I would love to have a Margot in my life! Not only is she just an adventurous woman who lives her life to the fullest but also she is there for both Henry and Abbi....

Teach Me - Review

I love these two as a couple so much. Even though sometimes I really want to shake Abbi because girl...get a grip, but I still love her too. She is here for the girls who are just awkward normal people. Even though she's gorgeous and has the body to show it, she's still humble and I love that she's learning about herself. She's not afraid to try new things and doesn't do that, doubting thing that so many FMC's do when dealing with something new. She has that in other areas but not having it there was refreshing. In this book we get to see Abbi stand up to her mother a little bit more and I love that for her! Her mother is someone who loves to smother you and she also embodies the church person who just loves to meddle. They always think they know best even though it isn't their lives that they are trying to make these decisions for. I also adore her father. Even though he is married to someone who is strong willed, he still has the backbone to not only let ...

Break Me - Review

Image
We return to the beautiful scenery of Alaska with Abbi and Henry. Only for me to overwhelmingly agree with Henry that Abbi is extremely naive and the way that she goes about things are terrible and she definitely needs a more world wise friend to talk her off the ledge. Since she does not, we get the events of this book. While I must say that it isn't all on her....the majority is. She does show some growth towards the end of this story. Although if seeing any of the characters in a story, have relations with others while estranged or anything bothers you, then you might now want to read this book. It's not "cheating" because technically they are estranged and not together but yeah....it happens. With that being said, I think that the time apart was kind of needed. They both were able to have the opportunity to see how things are without each other and they also had the opportunity to grow. Especially Abbi. She ends up having an emergency that forces her to leave an...

Tempt Me - Review

The next series that I decided to take on in my re-read sessions was the Wolf Hotel series by KA Tucker. This series was one that I devoured when I originally read it so I wanted to see if it still hit the same as then! This first book definitely has taken advantage of the naive virgin trope and really let it go full tilt. We meet Abbi as she is going through one of the worst moments in her life. She just found out that her fiancé cheated on her. Of course she comes from a super religious background meaning that they feel like it's ok for the man to do this while she must remain chaste. I mean all the things that young adults get into are things that she was forbidden to do, whether it was drinking, partying or wearing and talking about certain things. Our girl is oblivious. So when she runs into the one and only Henry Wolf, who has done just about any and everything, she is intrigued and curious. I liked that the FMC wasn't someone who fell into her upbringing heavily and did...

They all called to me when it was time for me to read them. But time for the big moment, time to pick the books in these categories: Spiciest book, Best Storyline, Favorite Character, Author of the Month and Book of the Month. Spiciest Book: Glitch- This book burned me every time I turned the page! It was nice and I felt very connected to Ara when I read this book since I am a big gamer and I...

Gabriel is Indeed Falling

Image
This book was an ok read. It was definitely a nice dose of lightness after the heavy plot driven story I read before. The mild miscommunication between Mercy and Gabriel was a little sigh worthy but again I think it's because I just finished such a deep story before it.        Mercy is dealing with catching feelings for Gabriel and instead of just letting it happen,  she's fighting it. She knew who he was when she met him and as things have progressed emotionally for them both she should be able to see the type of man he is. So it's surprising how she takes every negative thing that happens to mean that he's some terrible person. The main thing she wants is her father free and it seems like she'd learning that she'd do just about anything for that to happen.  Gabriel is dealing with falling hard for Mercy. Like from playboy to relationship in a short amount of time. He's also realizing that he'd give any and just...
