Love, Under Contract

Image
This is almost your typical billionaire romance. We have the workaholic billionaire Dru and the down to earth teacher Charisse. I loved how it felt like they could be my next door neighbor and if never know. It felt very down to earth despite things being anything but.  Dru was interesting and had layers while Charisse was bubbly and the friend we all want. I would recommend this as a nice cozy read. I only had 2 complaints which are kinda minor. They kept mentioning how much things were. Like when he's like,  "I'll send you 5k, that should be enough right?". I feel like a billionaire would usually be so out of touch with things that he'd be like just get whatever or I'll give ya 50k to go do xyz thing. He felt too connected to it while seeming disconnected with other aspects of being a billionaire. My other gripe was that the issue they grappled with seemed very miniscule and not enough to really derail things. Like the whole "crap we'

End of the Month Wrap Up - February '24 Edition

This month has been filled with a bunch of ARCs for me!! I can't believe that I was able to read so many books this month! Everyone of them has been worth it! Even the ones that I didn't like as much. Salute to all of these authors for getting the thoughts out of their minds and onto the pages and letting us be able to read it. Hopefully I can keep this up for next month and then I'll blow through the rest of these books and the challenge as well. It's that time again though, the end of the month wrap up! This month there are some books that are going to dominate the categories. These books have stuck with me since I read them and I can't wait to read more! Have you read any of these books? Let me know what you think of where I put them? Prettiest Cover:   Scorch - Look at this cover. I mean, do I even really have to say anything else? Look at Ansel? This man is beautiful and I just can't stop looking at this cover! Even the color palate that was chosen for th

Scorch - ARC Review

I could not wait to get to know more about Ansel and man did this book not disappoint. Ansel has been through so much and is still able to be such a great person! I felt how all of the people in the area that he lives in felt when they came to defend him. After meeting him in the first book in this series, I knew that he was going to be an amazing character. This is probably the first time I felt more connected to the MMC than to the FMC. Ansel is so compelling as a character and I loved spending time with him and learning about his struggle with his pack. Also the fact that he showed his age when it came to computers and tech stuff was a definitely laugh! Like always with books by this author, it's easy to get wrapped up in the characters. Even though it's been awhile since I've read the other books, it still feels like I just left them. Don't count out Morrigan! She too has been through a lot in her life and they both come together to make an amazing couple. It

Long For - Review

This is the story of Emma and Aiden who we met in the first book Lust For. This book kinda followed the save format as the first book. One of them was in full blown denial of the relationship at first and then gave in eventually after much angst. Then everything was actually pretty great for Emma and Aiden. They had the mini scandal like Derek and Audrey but definitely not as crazy. It was a nice read. My only gripe is something that I actually noticed in the first book that continued with this book. The internal monolog. Normally I find in books when the character we're following at the time has ab moment when they are having thoughts that's just for us the reader, then it's like no time passes in the context of their normal conversation or whatever is going on. In these two books for some reason it's not like that. The other characters notice the silence or the moment and are constantly asking if the character we're following are OK. It was a little
