A Kingdom of Blood and Fate - ARC Review

Image
This was an interesting story. I was definitely hooked from the beginning. This focuses on Caz, Caspian and Bri. I definitely had a different idea of how things were going to go and they went a complete opposite way. Not a bad way just a different way. I enjoyed getting to know Bri and Caspian in this book. Even though it ends up being a weird why choose situation (you'll have to read it to find out) we really spend most of the time with Caspian and Bri. We get some time with Caz but since Bri has already had so much life experience with him prior to us meeting him, most of the time is spent getting to know Caspian. I definitely really liked Caspian. Though I almost wanted to see more of the ruthlessness in him. What makes his siblings respect him other than the fact that he's the oldest? Of course we do get to see a ruthless side of him when it came to dealing with anything with Bri. I liked the world that was created in this story with the two halves of one soul and how the ...

Blood & Betrayals - ARC Review

Image
Wow, all I can say is this book left me speechless. At first things felt like they were dragging along. Our girl has her guy, things are working out for her here. She is starting to defrost little by little. Though the more that I read, the more that you could start to see the little fissures starting to show. From her needing more from said guy to how she begins to get stronger slowly but surely,  things start changing. By the time you realize how far she has come, then we have reached the end of the book. I really enjoyed that aspect of it. By the time we get to the end, she has changed a lot from the person that we met in the beginning of the story to the person that we see at the end. She is slowly embracing more of herself and I love that for her. I love seeing how each different species has not only their own realm but also how they have their own specialty with certain things in the world. They all have the ability to learn those different things but there is still so...

Giving The Dragon Water - ARC Review

Image
This was a another good entry into this series. This book focused on Felicity and life after finding out that her aunt was a crazy killer who was out to mess up her friends lives. We also meet Kai who is water dragon shifter on an island that is hidden from humans. Of course Felicity has to go to this secret island where she meets Kai and the sparks fly. I enjoyed the whole native feel to this book. It felt like the land wanted to be kept secret and all of the characters in this story had to play a part in making sure that the land was able to get what it needed. Then again they were up against something that I'm sure a lot of native people have had to deal with, and that's whether you want to control how you are revealed or to keep yourself hidden. They know that as technology and everything else advances more and more, things aren't necessarily going to be in their favor. I enjoyed getting to know this new world that we haven't had the opportunity to get to know yet...

Voodoo Doll - ARC Review

Image
This was a short and dark read about a priest who found a woman and just couldn't let her go. Let me tell you, the way things unfolded in this book was...different. It also kinda went from 0 to 100 real quick. Which, I guess....it's a novella but even I got whiplash from how fast it picked up. Things were going slowly and I almost felt like Bash didn't really like his familiar...which is an interesting choice. I was also hoping that there was going to be more of a the FMC turning to the MMC's side. Instead he kinda used his power to manipulate her. Which was kinda...meh. I liked everything else about this book except how the "relationship" developed. It just felt like it was fully manipulated instead of something that built or even insta love. It was just...different. It also felt kind of weird to me since there is already a bad connotation with Voodoo and now we have this guy who took a woman who pretty much used his power to make her feel something for him....

Katherine - ARC Review

Image
Another great entry in the Maw of Mayhem series by AK Nevermore! Katherine sees our favorite duo Grim and Kat back at it again! They are now trying to stabilize everything from the madness that happened after the takeover! And there is so much to be done. Getting the Molly's straight is just the half of it when you consider that they also have an entire world to save. I enjoyed this book and I'm hoping there is another book in this series. I honestly can't get enough of these two! I also couldn't believe it's only been 5 days! When they mentioned that Grim has only known her for a few days, I was like omg! All of this takes place in one day?!?!? There is sooo much going on that I'm not surprised that they are constantly sleeping and tired! There is so much happening! Not to mention, we just dealt with betrayel from people we thought were on our side...well don't think it stops in this book! I was shocked with some of the reveals in this book! Like complete...

Breeder and Breaker - ARC Review

Image
So...I really feel like I'm going to like this series. So I'm going to start with the novella prequel to the main book. In Breeder we meet Kara and see how things started out for her. Things are not going good for her and it just seems like she wanted to claim something as  her own and she is able to do that. Unfortunately that also comes with consequences. I liked this mini story. I hope that we get more from Rogan at some point. He only really appears in this first novella and not in the main story. I want to learn more about him. Breeder was super short and sweet.  As for the main story Breaker, we join back in with Kara and we get to see how things have changed for her a little bit since the situation in Breeder. She is still very shy and reserved and in her shell. Then things begin to slowly unroll for her in a negative way. This book has multiple POVs and we are given almost everyone's motivations for what they are doing and then everything else within this book. ...

Midnight Mayhem - ARC Review

Image
In the conclusion of the Clover Pack series, we see Rowan and the gang fighting against Cas and Queen Tantii. The stakes have never been higher than they are in this book!! The ending was so beautiful!! I really enjoyed seeing everyone get their happy ending. Of course we couldn't get here without some heartbreak so prepare to cry a little while reading this one. Rowan managed to come into her own along with some of the other characters. I'm sad to see this world end but happy to have been on the ride!!     The spice in this book, follows the trend of the others and is very, very light on the spice. We do get smexy time with Rowan and Callan but that's it. I give it a 2 out of 5 for spice. Overall I give this ending a 3 out of 5. I wanted a little more bonding with Callan and Rowan than what we got. Them finally getting to books is overshadowed by everything else happening in the story. There is a lot happening in the story though I will say that. From challen...

Reckless Beta- ARC Review

Image
I can't believe I just found this series!! I really, really enjoyed this book!! Even though it is a series you can jump in here and not feel like you're missing vital pieces of anything. I'm definitely going to go back and read the backlog for the shifters!! In this book we have Nash and AJ! Their story was beautifully told in this book. They just couldn't keep their hands off each other!! They both have baggage that they have to deal with on top of having to watch out for the hunters that are trying to kill all shifters. I felt so bad that they couldn't even shift and had to essentially suppress their Wolves just to feel safe! As an avid shifter reader, we all should know that this is dangerous. Holding in such a vital part of yourself for as long as they have to is crazy!! This book is heavily focused on Nash and AJ but we do get glimpses into the people around them. I love getting attached to all the characters in a world and not just the main ones. T...

Hunt Me - ARC Review

Image
Another great read!! Tori and Legion, had a lot to work through, what with her having a poison touch and him with his terrible past, it was going to be a tough road. Seeing them slowly break down the walls that they both had up with each made for a great read. The trials that they ended up having to deal with as time went on helped to give them a solid foundation. Though of course the past can never stay in the past and they have to fight for everything they've tentatively built. This was such nicely told story!! I loved meeting the characters, the world was beautifully built. I have not read the first book in this series but the author did an amazing job of not making you feel like you are missing pieces if you jump in with this book first. My only thing was Tori would be so blinded by emotions that she would make dumb decisions. It's her character flaw for sure. I can't say that I wouldn't react the same in some of those situations but not all of them....

Darker- ARC Review

Image
This book was interesting! There is a lot happening with the characters and it seems to be a pretty serious situation going down for the MC. There is a lot of laughs that go on though even though the situation is grave. It took me awhile to get the dynamics of all the characters and I'm still learning everyone a little since there were some more characters introduced by the end of the book. I am interested in reading the book before this and more than likely the one after it too! I feel like I will appreciate the events and the characters in this book more. Overall this was an entertaining read and I think it will make for a great palate cleansing read while still making you want more!     As for the spice in this one...whew it was pretty hot! The characters are already together when we meet them in this book and as such they definitely do not hold back. There is exhibitionism and some fun biting action. It was was a nice and hot!! Spice was definite...

Captive Shadows- ARC Review

Image
So, at first, I was not going to finish this book because by 43% I was already like where the heck is this story going. I was so shocked and flabbergasted by what was going on that I just had to keep going. I started thinking about it out loud and it just seemed to get crazier and crazier by the minute. It was like watching a soap opera unfold. Like....one of the crazy reality shows that's on tv. After spending some days to ponder on my feelings about this book, I think that while the story wasn't something that I traditionally read and like..it did it's job. I'm not even sure what to rate this book. After finishing the story, I just know that it is a book that is going to stick with me simply because it was so just outrageous. I guess I'm going to give it a 3 because, I'm DEFINITELY not going to forget the things nor the characters that were in this book. I would tell someone going into reading this to just...read it for the craziness because...this was an ...

Midnight Magic- ARC Review

Image
We are back with the Clover Pack!! Kinda... this book starts off where the previous one left off.  So actually we're in the Fae Realm lol. With this book we get so many reveals that I almost couldn't handle it!! Questions you had in the first book,  ANSWERS we get!! It was perfectly spaced out as not to overwhelm us and we got to meet so many new characters!! I don't know who I want to read about more now!! I how after Rowans story is complete we get more of the people we've met in this book. My heart was almost broken though, I won't even tell you who but someone almost DIED!! I was like,  please no,  not again!! The last book hurt me enough,  I couldn't handle it if we lost someone else. Luckily we didn't and more love interest have popped up.  I just really enjoy getting to dive into a world that makes me care about the other characters as well as the main crew.     This book had more spice in it than...

Slash or Pass- ARC Review!

Image
This book was mysterious as all get out. Even though the pieces start slowly falling into place, things don't fully take shape until closer to the end.  I enjoy books that have such a pure mysteriousness about them and this one definitely did that. A small town that is haunted by a terrible past..... well not really haunted since the people there don't really seem to care and allow those responsible to continue. Still a small town gets a little taste of what they have allowed to happen. The culprits have to balance their fear of being caught with their love of family... if they even have that. All in all I enjoyed this book! The slasher vibes manage to come across nicely and the characters are engaging.      As for the spice, it was ok. It definitely could have been a little more spicy. I did like what was there but it didn't like revv the engine you know. The potential was there but it just was a little out of reach. I give the spice ...
