Happily Ever After

This story was a continuation of another book I read (check out my review of Twisted Love if you haven't read it yet). I love getting glimpses of characters that we've met before in a new characters book! I was hoping we'd get more of Ava and Alex especially since these books run concurrent. We did get some interaction with the old crew but it's mostly focused on Bridget and Rhys. Which I'm definitely not going to complain about because I loved their story. They both had issues they had to work through but they got pass them to be together. The whole thing with Rhys being a secret noble felt like it was going to be the play to clean up the loose ends but I'm glad it didn't have a major role in anything. The moment he said he didn't know who his father was, I saw it coming but I wasn't sure who they would wrangle to be the mystery father. It was very interesting to see who they chose and how it played into the dynamics of the story. Also very glad grandad didn't die. Whew that was gonna be heavy if he did. I enjoyed everything being a little slow. They had so much to work through!! Bridget being royalty, royalty being forced to marry nobility, Rhys being a stubborn man and of course public perception. If anything, this book is a great example of how to maneuver in a political sphere where image is everything.
I would recommend this book to others who read the first one. Though it's definitely not a requirement since the first group of folks aren't heavily prevalent in this book. Kind of pop in and out. The spice in this book was very good. I enjoyed it and would give it a 4 out of 5. The story was good as well, even though that one part was partially predictable, I'd give it a 4 out of 5. So overall this book gets a 4 out of 5 from me!! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!
