Tempt Me - Review

The next series that I decided to take on in my re-read sessions was the Wolf Hotel series by KA Tucker. This series was one that I devoured when I originally read it so I wanted to see if it still hit the same as then! This first book definitely has taken advantage of the naive virgin trope and really let it go full tilt. We meet Abbi as she is going through one of the worst moments in her life. She just found out that her fiancé cheated on her. Of course she comes from a super religious background meaning that they feel like it's ok for the man to do this while she must remain chaste. I mean all the things that young adults get into are things that she was forbidden to do, whether it was drinking, partying or wearing and talking about certain things. Our girl is oblivious. So when she runs into the one and only Henry Wolf, who has done just about any and everything, she is intrigued and curious. I liked that the FMC wasn't someone who fell into her upbringing heavily and didn't want to try new things because someone else told her that she shouldn't and that it was bad. Of course these are things that she was already feeling prior to meeting Henry so it made it better that it wasn't something that was wholly influenced by him. Now while this was also a good thing, the fact that she even grew up with these kinds of beliefs made somethings a little tough to read. So of course her self esteem is a little damaged and so it makes her question everything. It does get a little old after awhile but we do get to see her blossom into herself. This book almost seems like the complete opposite of the book that I just completed prior. Abbi is definitely the one that is open and accepting of the new things especially when they come in the form of Henry. Henry is the one that is experienced and unfortunately has a lot of other baggage under his belt. I can't wait to continue reading to see how things progress with this couple. Even though I kinda remember some of the things that happen in this story. The re-read feels like coming back to an old friend.

The spice in this book was nice! I enjoyed the scenes and nothing felt extra and unnecessary. I give it a 4 out of 5. There are enough to carry the book but not too much that you miss the plot at times. Overall I enjoyed this book as much on the second read as I did on the first and give it a 4 out of 5. Everything flows well together and I really am engaged with the characters and want to get to know more about almost everyone that we've met up til this point. I definitely am looking forward to continuing this re-read and I think that anyone who likes spicy contemporary reads with the virgin FMC trope will definitely enjoy the first book in this series!
