This book was such an unexpected gem!! I really enjoyed reading this book and seeing the dynamic between the 2 characters!! There was so much happening in this book but it was all so interesting!! The story behind the Malone brothers however was so tragic! Like I can't believe how heartbreaking their story is. So to see at least 2 of them are getting their happily ever after just makes me smile. It was a tough road to get there though. The banter between Felix & Christabelle is just hilarious. I really enjoyed their enemies to lovers vibe! Then the reveal near the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think there is enough exclamation marks for the way my jaw dropped at that reveal!! Then it just kept coming. It's like the one reveal led to another and another. I was completely speechless Hats off to the author for this, because I had no clue. There wasn't really a lull in the story and everything seemed to have a place and a reason for what was happening. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to finish the next book in this series!

    The spice in this book was ok. It was nice to see it but I was more focused on some of the other aspects of the story. I gave the spice a 3. Overall I gave this book a 4. It was a fantastic opening to a series and it kept me interested and that darn reveal!! I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes their men morally gray and their ladies strong. I also want to start the series based in Copeland....essentially I'm adding all of this authors backlog to my TBR. RIP to me.

Yall, I try not to be long winded when I do my reviews because I don't want to spoil you. Also I try to be a raving looney toon as well but this series is going to probably have the longest reviews I've written. When I say that I am head over heels for these characters, this world, the story. I truly am. Once again we are back in this world meeting so many new faces and some returning!  This book was probably better than I thought it was going to be. I really enjoyed the characters and the world that was built. It was very light on the romance but it definitely managed to shine through when needed. I also would like to add that it did feel like it kind of dragged at certain points in the story and I would have liked if some things were sped up a little. Other than that though things were nice. The story of Max and how he came to be how he was, was tragic. Of course that's the truth of some of the "heroes" of wars. I am interested in seeing how things continue in the next book. Not only with Max, but definitely with Tisannah and the order. I also want to say that I listened to this in it's audiobook form and this was it was um...interesting. You could hear everything with this audio. I mean everything. Every breath that the voice actors took, any noise in their background, page turns and everything.   This was a spicy and fun read! I really enjoyed getting to know the Sokolov brothers! Their story was tragic and crazy but definitely worth the ride that we went on in this book! This book has what you can expect from an omegaverse book, muscle bound alphas with aggression issues, middle of the road betas and the soft spoken and often over looked omegas. The omegas in this world are pretty much subject to whatever the alpha's want. They are believed to just be bed warmers. I do like the idea that the omega's have power that can only be used to it's full potential if the alpha that bonds them actually cares about them. It makes the men have to actually try to care if they want power. Most of the omega's in this world do not have access to their gifts past puberty due to them not forming bonds that are forged with love.
