Captive of the Horde King - Review

Image
Yasss, I love my alien romance! I liked this book! Even though Luna made me roll my eyes and have to put my book down a few times. I really enjoyed it. She was just a little bit too nice at times and it definitely got her in trouble. Though of course she ended up learning from her mistakes but still...GIRL. I laughed and I was a little sad while reading this book but overall it definitely gave the dosage of alien that I needed. Dakkar is definitely somewhere that I would like to return to. I think getting a book from the eyes of the MMC in this one would have been interesting. Arokan was learning about Luna, the same way that she was learning about him and I really liked their journey to getting to know each other. Might I also see a little something blossoming with two of the other characters that we meet in this book?  The spice in this book was doing it's thang! I really liked where it happened in the book and it didn't seem frivolous and long when we did get to the scene...

End of the Month Wrap Up - August 2025

Here we are again folks! On time this time at that! Unfortunately, we are on time for one of the smaller months on my reading list so far. I have been one busy bee. I have been traveling here and traveling there. I guess I'll accept the short list for this month since it wasn't due to me being morose but more so because I was busy! This month I was only able to read 6 books. They were all definitely good reads though. I don't think there was a bad one among them. Let's check em out and then get the break down! Favorite Character   : Amara (The Emperor) - I loved Amara in this book! I mean she didn't allow a traumatic experience to shape her life. She was able to fight through that and was able to embrace the love that was waiting for her with Dante. They had to wait awhile and have faith in each other but it all paid off for them in the end. Even though we find out later that there were people in her life that did not have her best interest at heart, she didn...

Fourth Wing - Review

This book was more interesting than I thought. There are so many people who love this series. I can definitely see why they did. I enjoyed it as well. Violet's mother was definitely a very annoying person. I could not stand her. I just don't understand how there are so many books where the parents are just terrible. This is one of them. Of course the father in this book was great but he was dead before we even got the chance to know him. Then the sister was also pretty amazing. I loved that she was very close to her sister. Then seeing her be able to take all the blows that she was given and keep getting better. Then she was able to take in everything that she already knew and applied it to what she has now. I definitely like that about her character. Especially since she was able to be logical about things when they didn't make sense instead of just being blinded by what she is told and taking it as gospel. I definitely loved her character. Though I can definitely see th...

Vicious Secret - Review

This book was interesting from the beginning to the end. I definitely felt like Delilah was a little silly once she was able to get to the school. There was many a times that I was like girlllll, what the heck are you doing? What about this seems smart? I do find it interesting that she went along with some of the things that the other girls did, especially once they said that they knew that their parents would be able to bail them out. They had no fear of the consequences. As someone who was there on a scholarship that could easily be revoked...I think the last thing that I would be doing would be committing a crime as bad as the one they decided to commit. Not to mention, she got upset about someone cheating off her test but not literal breaking and entering. Especially when it was over a guy who she hadn't even really spoken to up til that point. I was giving her a very much bombastic side eye. Ben...big sigh. The whole situation with Ben was very annoying. It's definitely ...

The Emperor - Review

I finally have returned to the world of the Dark Verse with this one and man oh man, it did not disappoint. Now this book is almost as messed up as the previous books was. The surprise that we encounter with finding out more about Dante and Amara's past was not what I expected. Then to later find out who the person behind all of this was....oh my goodness. I was a little shocked. Then Amara, decided to show us that she can channel all that darkness and be just as dark as her man Dante. I was shocked by that too. Getting to see Tristan's backstory through the eyes of these two characters was also a very nice plus. I did almost shed a tear when we saw Dante's history. Even though we knew some of it from Tristan's side, it was still pretty sad the way his father treated him and his brother. I almost had a theory at one point about Damien but luckily that ended up being proven wrong because I know that it would have messed up poor Dante if that was the case. I really enjoy...

The First Drop of Crimson - Review

I'm not sure if I read this book when I was initially reading the Night Huntress series but I did enjoy stepping my foot back into this world. This time, instead of Cat and Bones being the ones that we follow on their high stakes journey, it is Spade and Denise! These two are the besties of Bones and Cat and I loved that they were able to get together! Of course the last time that we saw Denise it was with a tragic event happening, so seeing her get a story that ends in happiness was very nice. This involved some banter between our MMCs and we got some more flashbacks of Spades life as a human and how he met Bones. Vampire politics is again on display in this one and it is very nice to see things built upon that we already established. This book had me laughing and was just really enjoyable!  The spice in this book was also very nice. Spade and Denise both were kinda in some dry spells but managed to end that with each other. 4 out of 5 on my spice scale. Overall, I thought t...

End of the Month Wrap Up June/July

Here is my once again late End of the Month Wrap Up. Starting in August, I'm going to try to go back to the one a month format. It just feels like the days are passing by so quickly and before I know it, it's the end of the month and I am never ready. Like already we are half way through August and I have to start getting my wrap up for this month prepared. Anyway, for June and July, I was able to make a video wrap up as well, if you'd like to see it, it is already up on my Tik Tok. I'll link it below. So this is going to be a mash up of the books that I read in June and July, I will try to keep them in order by the month I read them. So the first 9 books are for June and the remaining 8 are for July! Here we go!!   Favorite Character  - Ildiko/ Catarina:   For June, my favorite character was Ildiko from the Wraith Kings series. I loved that she was so open minded and didn't allow her circumstances to define how she took in what happens to her. Instead of being mea...
