Completing the Circle

   I just finished the third book in Alpha Compound series by Anna Fury, Wide Awake. This book was about Brady, Conner and Carmen. I didn't really connect with this book like I feel like I connected with the others. I guess maybe it felt insta lovish? Especially since they were essentially being intimate almost from the time they met.  Like I have no issues with that in a book but I feel like I didn't get a chance to enjoy them getting to know each other.  The other books in this series flesh out the relationship between the characters a lot better.  Again I think that's because Carmen was joining an already established mating. I did enjoy learning more about the omegas and getting more info on the other packs.  I really want to see if we get a series on some of them.  Especially Tyler since we see them interacting with Mitchell's pack the most. There was some plot movement and set up but I feel like it all happened on the tail end of the book, which is where I found myself skipping paragraphs. This one was heavy on the smut as well. Which as a self proclaimed lover of smut, felt like to much. The only reason I feel that was is because I wanted more time getting to know Carmen and who she was with Brady and Conner.  It felt more like she was a shoe in instead since there needed to be another omega in the situation. I'm not sure if I would recommend this book or just tell someone to read a short cliff- notes type of thing on this book.  I think I'll finish it out simply because I read the blurb on the next book and I can't wait for Jude and Griz to FINALLY get together!! Jude seems like she would have a lot to offer in terms of the story. 
    The smut was definitely like...a 5 out of 5. I mean after they have in,  Carmen was getting dicked down everywhere! Every 5 seconds they were banging. So easy pick there. The issues with story depth is what brought this book down in my ranking to a 3 star. If there was just a little bit more with Carmen I'd be happy. I still feel like I don't really know her as a character besides the Foster Care thing.  Definitely cliff note this book and skip to the next with me!!

   I finally decided to take the plunge and start this series. This book was really good and I felt so much for Elise. She has so much happening and to see her experience moments of pure happiness was the most rewarding part of this book. As for the men, whew, I really want to continue this series just to see how she is able to resolve the fact that two of the men are mortal enemies. How are they going to come to terms with each other? They are mortal enemies and their families have hated each other for generations!! The others I can see getting along just because but generational enemies?!?!?! That right there is enough to make me want to finish the series. End of The Month Wrap Up- September '23

   We are here again with another End of the Month Wrap Up. It's crazy to say that I can't believe it again but we have burned through this month in a blink. I have gone on a trip and come back and here we are, at the end of the month once again!! I didn't do as much reading as I wanted to since I fell into a slump during the middle of the month. Still all of the books that I read were interesting in their own way. So let's see where all these books fell this month!       Favorite Character:   Avery- Avery from Wonder Light is my selection as favorite character of the month!! I loved that she decided to take some time for herself and do something crazy. Sometimes doing something different can be just what we need to shock our systems and can reset us. The Cliffiest of Cliff Hangers

    Whew,  I received this ARC for a honest review of this book. Let me just say that this was cruel and unusual punishment!! Like the title for this review says, the biggest cliff, in cliffhanger history ends this book.  The next page asks us to wait until next year for the next book.  I won't survive. I will spend the next week writing down theories of how this could continue.      The characters in this book are so memorable!! I love a snarky heroine and her dark hero. These two are actually a match made in... well hell? Darkness? I don't know but I can't wait to read more when the next book in this series drops. I definitely recommend this book!! The spice didn't come to the end but it was hot !! I give the spice 3 out of 5 simply because I wish there was more!! It was so good! Overall I'd rate this book 4 out of 5!! Great works building,  great characters, and plot. Everything is paced nicely and it definitely leaves you wanting more!!
