 Warning!! Super spoiler review!!

     Yes, I put a super spoiler warning on this one. I am extremely upset by how this book turned out. It stated out great and got progressively worse. If I'm at 50% or more and the characters haven't banged yet... it's not gonna happen, be FTB or glossed over. It's ok if it's a slow burn it a series focused on these characters but I knew that wasn't the case with this book. So after checking and seeing 80% and nothing, I was disappointed already. Not to mention I started skipping paragraphs. The beginning had me hooked!! It was so well done. FMC is a regular girl helping her family in a time where women were only supposed to be meek and cook. She's brazen, a huntress and could care less about girly endeavors. Loved it. Meets the MMC and he likes her for her differences. At first I thought it was going to be a competition between her and the other women for most of the book with her winning out about a little before half way, them getting married and her navigating the differences in her life and then war on the horizon to intro the new characters that would continue the next book. Nope. Not at all what happened. She's a long lost king killer, he picks someone else but keeps her close. There is no interaction between them for real as we got a time skip and he just randomly confesses to liking her and wishing he could marry her instead. Awkward since she's now friends with his fiancé. Then fiance gets killed, they kinda forget about her in a matter of hours and decide to get married. Upon their return, new wrench in plans! Because of her bloodline she might produce disfigured kids who may die, queue the MMC trauma from 4 other kids dying and now be wants to wife her but sex others. I couldn't eye roll hard enough at this point. It was so unnecessary. Skip to them getting married and having a 2 page, glossed over wedding night to the next day he is getting to bang another chick to get her preggers. [Insert painful scream here], more unnecessary stuff!! Like why was this added?? Ugh anyway, he freaks out before banging the other chick because apparently he lives our FMC who we've barely seen him interact with because ya know... it was glossed over. Huge time skip, she's having a baby because they decided F it and to try. She has twins end of book. Wtf?? Like so much potential, WASTED.  
    I'm not continuing this series and I would never recommend this to anyone. There was added angst for no reason and too much skipped over things that could have been fleshed out into an amazing story. I feel like this author is used to writing YA or something because that's how this felt. Spice was non existent so 0 out of 5 stars. Overall I give this a 1.5 out of 5. It only got the .5 because I feel like it had SUCH potential and the beginning was very well written. Everything after the FMC arrived in the capital was not good.

   I finally decided to take the plunge and start this series. This book was really good and I felt so much for Elise. She has so much happening and to see her experience moments of pure happiness was the most rewarding part of this book. As for the men, whew, I really want to continue this series just to see how she is able to resolve the fact that two of the men are mortal enemies. How are they going to come to terms with each other? They are mortal enemies and their families have hated each other for generations!! The others I can see getting along just because but generational enemies?!?!?! That right there is enough to make me want to finish the series. End of The Month Wrap Up- September '23

   We are here again with another End of the Month Wrap Up. It's crazy to say that I can't believe it again but we have burned through this month in a blink. I have gone on a trip and come back and here we are, at the end of the month once again!! I didn't do as much reading as I wanted to since I fell into a slump during the middle of the month. Still all of the books that I read were interesting in their own way. So let's see where all these books fell this month!       Favorite Character:   Avery- Avery from Wonder Light is my selection as favorite character of the month!! I loved that she decided to take some time for herself and do something crazy. Sometimes doing something different can be just what we need to shock our systems and can reset us. Especially when we you go through something traumatic. I also loved her location choice! Most of the places that she went to in this book are places that I also visited. The Cliffiest of Cliff Hangers

    Whew,  I received this ARC for a honest review of this book. Let me just say that this was cruel and unusual punishment!! Like the title for this review says, the biggest cliff, in cliffhanger history ends this book.  The next page asks us to wait until next year for the next book.  I won't survive. I will spend the next week writing down theories of how this could continue.      The characters in this book are so memorable!! I love a snarky heroine and her dark hero. These two are actually a match made in... well hell? Darkness? I don't know but I can't wait to read more when the next book in this series drops. I definitely recommend this book!! The spice didn't come to the end but it was hot !! I give the spice 3 out of 5 simply because I wish there was more!! It was so good! Overall I'd rate this book 4 out of 5!! Great works building,  great characters, and plot. Everything is paced nicely and it definitely leaves you wanting more!!
