I really enjoyed the premise of this story and how it was done. Jillian being essentially a nerdy girl who gets sent on a job and ends up falling for someone who she meets in the town was executed nicely. I really wish that we were able to get more information regarding how people were being changed and the area that was changing people over. I liked the small town vibes and the multitude of different shifters that were in this book. The only thing I could say was a negative is that I felt like the relationship between Jillian and Bael was kind of out of no where. Unless I fell asleep on the audible, I was SO confused when they hooked up. It definitely felt like it came out of no where. The feelings kinda felt like it came out of no where as well.
The spice in this book was ok. Since it felt like the romance came out of no where, I wasn't really invested in the situation and it kind of surprised me! However, afterwards I was prepared. 2 out of 5 on the spice scale. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and I would probably continue this series. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to start out with shifter novels or who already enjoys it. The light spice would make it a good intro for romance lovers as well.
