The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King - Review

Image
This was a good read. The vibes were almost completely different from the first book in this series. I feel like the first book was very optimistic and light even though everyday was a fight for Oraya's life. The second one has a more darker feel because it is dealing woth grief. Even though Oraya cares for Raihn she has to come to terms with the fact that he killed her father. Then she has to deal with the grief of losing said father while getting revelations about him that paint him in a different light than she's used to. All while dealing with political machinations that could lead to get death. It is honestly a lot to handle. Seeing that she was able to make it through was so satisfying. Also being able to reconcile the father she knew to the man who she learned about. Heart wrenching. All in all, it was a great story.  The spice was doing the thang. Even though Oraya and Raihn had some major relationship issues to work through, their love for one another shine...

Wards & Warlocks - ARC Review

Two of my fave characters from Weres & Witchery have gotten their story! Felix and Liam was the second chance romance that I didn't know I needed! I loved getting to see Jenna and Chase again. Ya'll know I love when the interconnected, interconnects. These two had a lot to work through to get to their happy ever after. Past pain is almost always harder to deal with than current. Just like our previous couple though, they were able to slowly but surely work through their issues. With each of their quirkiness you will fall for these characters. That's of course, if you didn't already love them like I did. Be prepared to laugh and love right alongside these two! The spice in this book was definitely...spicy! Whew these two were definitely spicing up the pages. There wasn't a whole lot of spice but what was there was nice. I gave this a 3 out of 5 for spice. Overall, I enjoyed this read. As always, getting our girl Jenna and Chase again from the first book was my cu...

Exile - ARC Review

It's hard to remember a series that I have been as invested in as I have with this one. I love this series so much. This entry in the series has begun to clean up lose ends as we head into the big showdown with Mother. Speaking of, we get to learn more and more about her in this book. The journal entries at the beginning of the chapters have given more insight into what happened to her to make her into who she is now. Though there is so much more for us to learn. We also get to see Flynn go through probably some of the worst times he's ever been through. I felt for him throughout and I just can't imagine going through what he does here. Though there is a slight light at the end of the tunnel. Kara, also goes through a lot here even though she's not awake for most of it. Heck all of our characters are facing a lot of hard times and even harder decisions. From Cal, Rogan and Nora to Fitz, Marcos and even Titus. The decisions and things they are going through are poised t...

A Touch of Ruin - Review

I have never yelled so much at a character as I did Persephone in this book. I mean, my goodness!! She was everywhere and doing everything but what she needed to do. I was ready to throw the book (I was listening on audible) down a long hallway! Jeeze, it was almost like watching a teenager through a tantrum. Of course I also had to remember that she is still new to the mortal world and was caged for a long time. Still....her reactions were driving me crazy. I can't wait to read the events that happened in this book from Hades POV. I mean Persephone was well and truly being a brat. They fought at any and all opportunity. I didn't even know if they were going to make up at some points. I'm glad they did and Hades has the patience of a saint! I definitely had to stop the audio a few times just to calm down from her antics. It got a little better towards the end but she is pretty annoying through out. I'm glad that she has the friends that she does because they were also ...
