This book was so different. Like, I loved the subject matter and the way it was handled. The past back and forth of the chapters and the reveals were perfectly placed. I felt bad for characters that didn't even deserve sympathy. Then I also felt anger, curious and happy at certain parts. The lore was thick and definitely made sure you paid attention.  The spice was great in this one. I really enjoyed the scenes with the characters. I almost washed more. It's not super descriptive but it is still well done. I'd give it a 3 out of 5 for spice. Overall, I liked this book. I do plan on continuing the series and I can't wait to see what comes next. I'd recommend this to anyone who don't mind the religious context with dark overtones. 

  Well, I was ready to be upset with this book but it ended up being better than I expected. I was hoping so much that Rune wasn't going to fall into the trap and make me angry with him. He kinda did anyway...then he didn't even rush to rectify the situation. I am giving him major side eyes and he's gonna have to do some groveling for our girl because she deserves it! I didn't expect for this book to be so freaking HOT. I mean, it's probably because I listened to the audio version but MY GAWD. I was just...whew....I was beyond ready for these two to finally admit how they felt for each other. Even if Rune was a stalky mcstalkerson. I definitely really like this duet narration. The story itself is good and I really want to see how things are going to progress in the next book. The growth that I'm expecting for Scarlet, the war between the vampire factions and Rune finally admitting that he loves Scarlet! This could easily become one of my favorite duets if this s...
