A Kingdom of Blood and Fate - ARC Review

This was an interesting story. I was definitely hooked from the beginning. This focuses on Caz, Caspian and Bri. I definitely had a different idea of how things were going to go and they went a complete opposite way. Not a bad way just a different way. I enjoyed getting to know Bri and Caspian in this book. Even though it ends up being a weird why choose situation (you'll have to read it to find out) we really spend most of the time with Caspian and Bri. We get some time with Caz but since Bri has already had so much life experience with him prior to us meeting him, most of the time is spent getting to know Caspian. I definitely really liked Caspian. Though I almost wanted to see more of the ruthlessness in him. What makes his siblings respect him other than the fact that he's the oldest? Of course we do get to see a ruthless side of him when it came to dealing with anything with Bri. I liked the world that was created in this story with the two halves of one soul and how the ...

Our Vicious Oaths - Review

I have no idea how to feel after listening to this book. I am extremely conflicted. I feel the same way I felt after reading another book from last year. I wanted to DNF but at the same time I couldn't look away from the crash that I was witnessing. So this will have spoilers, I usually try to stay away from them in reviews but I also feel like I can't accurately describe my feelings of what I listened to without them. So first lets start with my feelings towards Kadeesha. I liked her in the beginning but she just felt very lackluster. Like she tells us how strong she is and what-not but I didn't believe her. There was no instance where she proved exactly what she said and what we were being told. At every instance she was being shown to be weaker than those that she was around. So I'm left with thinking that she is average and has this over inflated sense of power for herself. She also didn't even seem to really like Malachi. Yeah they had some great smex together...

Elevator Pitch - Review

This was another amazing read for this month! Wow, this book deals with all kinds of trauma and recovery. It's not like super heavy trauma but it is enough that a lot of people could probably see themselves through the eyes of the main characters. It's really the little things in life that we go through that can cause trauma that we don't even know about or are ready to realize that we need to heal from. I loved getting to see Selah as she navigated trying to do things that are outside of her comfort zone so that she could become the new person that she wanted to be. She embraced the hard conversations and was ready for a new beginning. Even if that beginning ended up scaring her in the long wrong. Then we also meet Grayson, who is also navigating trauma. He doesn't even realize that he is until he meets Selah and learns that he too needed help healing from the damage of a past relationship. I loved meeting the side characters in this book as well! Everyone was so funn...

Escorting the Yakuza - Review

I really enjoyed this book! I feel like we had a lot more issues to deal with in this one than we did in the first one. I liked how much deeper it felt like the author went with these characters and how their dynamics worked. They had a lot to deal with between Shinji and Angel (her name by the end of the book). From Angel's severe trauma to Shinji's secret, there was a lot going on for the crew. I really liked getting to know more about each of them. We got to love them as individual characters as well as love them together. Even though we joined in on Shinji and Takeshi after they were together, none of that mattered because we got to see glimpses of how they got together. I always love getting a chance to see characters that we have met in the previous books whenever it's a series. Even if it's just short glimpses of them as they interact with each other. With this one that was still the case, even though we didn't really get to see much of Portia. It would have...
