A Hunger Like No Other - Review

Ahhh coming home to some of my favorites has been so relaxing!! I have loved getting to re-read some of the books that got me invested in this genre. This one was one of the top reads and it has definitely stood the test of time for me. Emma is someone who had so much growth in this book. From being afraid of even getting a paper cut to being a BA and taking out one of the big bads in this world. The growth was immaculate. Of course it can also be attributed to her meeting Lachlan. Even though at first things were rough between them being that he was literally just tortured for a very long time. He experience some growth too. Even though he is still very much a growly he-man, he realized that in order to let Emma be herself, he had to let go a little...or get smacked. I don't think there is much that you can dislike about this book. It introduces you to so many characters who we are going to get to know and love later that it single handedly launches this whole universe (even thou...

Lady of Darkness - Review

Well, I definitely spent all day listening to this in audiobook form. I was very hooked and very interested to see how this was going to workout. From meeting Soren in the first few pages to Callen trying to get closer to Scarlett after finding out who she actually is. Everything in this book was interesting! Now there were some lows that I want to get into before I begin spouting off how I almost instantly started book 2. So, Scarlett, is a powerful woman who is out here torturing and killing people in some creative ways...and by people I mean Fae. So imagine my surprise when she is constantly taking Ls in fights and really only wins a hand to hand with her sister. I really dislike when stories TELL us about a character and how amazing they are but then proceed to contradict that with every paragraph that we read. Like, you shouldn't have to repeatedly tell me how scary someone is in their world. I want to see it and believe it. As it stands, it almost seems like Scarlett is only...

Wild Games - ARC Review

The book that finally completes the games has arrived!! This one focuses on Jax and Camille as they navigate being mates with trying to capture a dangerous person who is sabotaging the games. This book wraps up everything that was left hanging from the previous books. It's hard to believe that these books almost take place simultaneously. There is so much going on, from the first book with Jamie and Dean to the second book with Wyatt and Naomi to this one with Jax and Camille. Luckily everything gets tied up pretty nicely. If you were rooting for a certain alpha, we definitely see who wins this one finally. I was not surprised by the winner and I was definitely rooting for them! Jax was going through a lot during this book and he kept things tame even though he knew that Camille was his mate. This definitely made me want to give him a good shake. Though his fears were understandable. In the end everything worked out how it was supposed to and I hope we get more from some of the c...

Dark Prince - Review

Ahh it feels so good to return to one of the books that helped to start my love of romance books! This series was one of my gateway books into PNR and fantasy. I loved getting the chance to go back and it scratched just that nostalgic itch that I was looking for. This book is the first book in the Dark/Carpathian series by Christine Feehan. It follow Mikhail and Raven as they meet and navigate something that the Carpathians hadn't successfully done in a long time, turn a human woman. I liked the premise of the book being that these strong Carpathian men slowly lose their ability to feel emotions and to see in color of the decades/centuries that they live. The only one that can return those things to them are their lifemates. Which unfortunately for a lot of the men now have been few and far between. They have not been able to have any female babies and turning human women was an issue. I think this set the ground work for everything that is to follow in this series and allows you ...
