End of the Month Wrap Up- March 26

Image
This was another good month of reads! I was able to get some ARCs in this month and had started some amazing series. Unfortunately that has meant that my re-read of books has come almost to a screeching halt. I have tried to listen to as many of my re-reads as possible but with a few of them not having audio books yet, they have kind of slipped to the way side. I do intend to go back to some of them this month however. I just have to decide which ones that I would like to revisit. As for the books that I read this month, there are some authors that I am definitely adding to my must read list and I plan on starting on their backlog as soon as I can! With that being said, let's jump into it! This month I was able to read 15 amazing books! Let's recap them and then jump into the superlatives!         Favorite Character  - Ondine : I enjoyed getting to know Ondine and watching her come into her own. She wasn't someone who even fully accepted herself but d...

Toxic - Review

Another book that I don't know how to feel about. This is definitely not a slow burn. Its a fast burn with a lot of traumatic moments in between. Definitely think this couple got together based on vibes because after what Tessa went through, I'd be staying away from men. I will say there were some unintentional funny moments. Like one where they were getting it on and Gracin asked for a condom. I was like sir...that ship has sailed many bruises ago. Also the fact that instead of immediately leaving the states before anyone knows anything, Tessa decides to move to LA. I coulda choked her myself! Don't get it twisted yall this is definitely a full on dark romance. Check your triggers because this one was could be a little hard for some folks.  The spice in this was ok. Due to the circumstances it often happened,  I was like meh. But on the other hand ince we passed that part it was good. 3 out of 5 for the spice. Overall this was an ok read. I blew through it rela...

Terror at the Gates - Review

This was a different read that's for sure. I'm still on the fence for how I feel about it. Lilith shows all the characteristics of a privileged person who just so happens to be living poorly. The arrogance she shows when dealing with almost every situation is funny up until you realize she doesn't have the skills or backbone to back it up. She hates the establishment but still uses the benefits. The amount of times she cries was almost a record in a book honestly. The only time I felt it was warranted really she didn't actually cry.... that much. The other times was annoying. Her as a character was annoying actually.  Zahareiv seeing her as more than a petulant child was interesting. I hope in the next book she is better as a character. Other than that, the actual story of what is going is interesting. The gates, the prophecy, the patriarchal society that has to depend on the women they subjugate for power.... very interesting. I want more and less of Lilith...

Broken by the Horde King - Review

I loved getting a chance to meet a human who grew up amongst the Dakkari. I knew it had to have happened at some point. The story of Kiran and Maeva was a beautiful story. How the person who was meant for you could be in front of you this whole time but due to that blindness you could also miss them. It also taught of timing. Sometimes you can have the right person but at the wrong time. They may have grown up together but because the timing wasn't right they did not end up together. Once they were older, only then were they both ready to accept each other and appreciate what they individually had to offer. I almost find the latter books to be some of the best in this series. It's getting harder to pick a favorite!!  The spice in this book was nice but it didnt hit like some of the other books did which was strange. I was waiting for these two to finally get together but it was just ok. I'd give it a 3 out of 5 for the spice. Overall I really enjoyed the story b...
