A Cage of Kingdoms - Review

Another nice entry in this series! I'm curious to see who is going to be next in getting a story. I almost want a little bit more from this one! I wanted to see how things were going to end with the fairy situation and Aurelia learning more about her powers. This book felt like it was heavily her story. Even though we get some of Weston's POV, it felt like he was just a background character in her character arc. Which I guess he kinda was. Convincing everyone in the kingdom that she wasn't a bad person and that she deserved to be forgiven was a lot of work! Weston being an already established character and really having nothing to prove to anyone other than Aurelia, really removed him from being important. Then again we kinda got the same with the main story of Nyfain and Finley. Though in their story it was also Nyfain's story. He was not established and had a lot to prove himself. I did like this story because the nerds were nerding here! I loved getting to see more of Vemar and his blooming relationship with Calia? That's going to be an interesting story if they are to be together and aren't just two people who went through trauma together. Also Hannon? Can we talk about the little glimpses we get of Hannon? Like...ok sexy brother to the Queen! I loved him when we met him with Finley and I definitely adore him now! I definitely hope that he eventually also gets a story. Hadriel also doesn't disappoint! Suffice it to say, all the characters in this story are amazing and memorable. We get to learn about who Aurelia's biological family could possibly be and I hope that information comes to be important in later installments in this series.

The spice in this book was very hot. At times it was easy to forget that Weston is indeed an Alpha wolf, when he is not really focused on that much. So in the moments when he got to flex it, it was nice. It definitely manifested in the spicy scenes! Definite 5 out of 5 for the spice. K.F. Breene knows what she's doing in that department. Overall, I give this book a 4 out of 5. It was just as good as the first one but nothing can beat how hot that one was. It is in keeping with the rest of the DDF series and I can't wait for more should she decide to give it to us. I would hands down recommend this series to anyone who wants to continue this series. It is funny, spicy and a dang good read! Fantasy lovers will definitely enjoy this book and series.
