Eidolon - Review

This book was all that I remembered it to be and more! Brenshen and Ildiko were faced with something that neither one of them ever thought wouldbe an issue. It tested their relationship in a way that would have either broken them or made them stronger. This is a stpry of perserverence and love. The people of this world had to be willing to put their differences aside if they all wanted to survive. I really enjoyed all of this. Like it just elaborated that much more on the world and the characters. I am so glad that I now know that there is more in this series. This world is definitely one that wraps you up in it and doesn't want to let you go. This book is truly what started my love of alien romances when I first read it. Even though this book is fantasy and not alien, this was the first time that I encountered a love interest that was so visually different than the FMC. Elves and many other fantasy creatures in my books up til this point were still human presenting. Meaning the main difference about them was like their ears or their height. Sometimes their strength, long life or magical abilities. The Kai on the other hand, have visual differences, that would make them almost seem like nightmares to most people in this world. So to have our MCs fall for each other despite the fact that, in their worlds, they would perceive each other to be ugly and otherworldly, was beautiful. I know a lot of people dislike the pregnancy trope but I love it. I think, getting to see Breshen react to Ildiko carrying his child would have been an amazing thing to see. Alas twas not meant to be but watching them get the opportunity to parent his neice will be a great addition.

There was not much spice in this book. Like just about every scene was fade to black. So this gets a definite 2 out of 5 for spice. Overall though, this is a strong  out of  read for me. I burned through this really quickly. i loved seeing how they were able to fight for their relationship, despite everything being against them. They were able to fight through the missunderstandings and the discrimination to find each other again. In the end, they were able to bring together people, who normally wouldn't have been able to see to the other side of each other. I would definitely recommend this book to others. This series so far has been amazing!
