The Butcher of the Bay - Review
I really enjoyed this book! I devoured it in no time! The story of Illi and Odie is one that is likely to stick with me. I can't wait until I can read the second part of this book. I was hoping that the end of this book would have went a different way but this second part should be at least a little different than the first. Odette has had a really sucky life. Like I mean bad. I feel so bad for her before things even get crazy in the book. I couldn't believe the turn that things took and so quickly. I really thought that she would actually have a little bit more spine but I'm hoping that we will see more of that in the next book. Illi on the other hand, puts the morally dark in in this book. I mean he is out here killing and chopping people up. Then he sends their parts to a cannibal. At least he has a type of moral code. I definitely want to see how things go with his best friend. It does seem that he has turned on him and with the way that things are set up in this world, this could definitely end up going extremely bad for all the involved parties.
The spice in this book was not there but it makes sense considering what happens to the characters in this book. So it definitely gets a 0 out of 5 for the spice. Overall, I definitely enjoyed this book and even though I was burning through the book, I didn't want it to end. I really loved the characters and I found the world that we've fallen into with Mounts Bay. I definitely would recommend this book to anyone who likes dark romance. Like you genuinely have to like dark romance or this book will definitely not be for you. I can't wait to start the second part of this story. It is going to be a firework show!
