Iron Flame - Review

Can I just say, that I am still surprised by how much I like this series? I mean, it's rare that there are series that are extremely popular that I tend to like but this one has definitely made me like it. This book definitely brought out the darker side of this world. Even though we have definitely had our toes in it in the previous book. It seems like it was explored that much more in this one. From torture to more death, this book deals it out to us in painful fashion. The only things that I really can say got on my nerves slightly was the fact that Violet is so insecure and is with someone who is such the polar opposite. Though I know that he is a person just like she is and you can kinda get that she is someone who is thrust into a world she didn't expect, it still gets annoying. Like even a nerd to have some confidence. I know that when it comes to books and certain knowledge she definitely is confident but it would be great if she got a little more of it. Watching Xaden baby her for a lot of the scenes got slightly annoying. The only other thing was that she didn't speak up enough in the situations where she needed to. I loved the one time that she did. It mostly revolves around her and Kat. Like PLEASE, girl have a backbone. Anyway, everything else was spectacular! Having her go through learning to keep a secret and then once the secret is revealed and how things went there was just....amazing. The ending of this book almost gave me a fit! I don't know what the heck we are going to get in the next book. I am almost afraid to even START the next book. I have no idea how the heck we are going to reconcile things with how this one ended!!

There was a heck of a lot more spice in this book than there was in the first book. Despite them being apart for a good portion of this book. They still managed to spice up the pages for us. 4 out of 5 on the spice scale for me! Overall, I really, really enjoyed this book. I can't wait for more from the rest of this series. I have been listening to this with the graphic audio and it has truly been a treat! Shout out to all the narrators involved in this book. They have done a stellar performance. Definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the first book. If you are looking to start this series, then definitely try it. What do you have to lose? The crazies have already read it, so you can do so in peace!
