A Hunger Like No Other - Review

 Ahhh coming home to some of my favorites has been so relaxing!! I have loved getting to re-read some of the books that got me invested in this genre. This one was one of the top reads and it has definitely stood the test of time for me. Emma is someone who had so much growth in this book. From being afraid of even getting a paper cut to being a BA and taking out one of the big bads in this world. The growth was immaculate. Of course it can also be attributed to her meeting Lachlan. Even though at first things were rough between them being that he was literally just tortured for a very long time. He experience some growth too. Even though he is still very much a growly he-man, he realized that in order to let Emma be herself, he had to let go a little...or get smacked. I don't think there is much that you can dislike about this book. It introduces you to so many characters who we are going to get to know and love later that it single handedly launches this whole universe (even though later we get a book for Mist and Nicolai). I say later because as someone who was reading this when it came out, this book was the first one and then the novella for Mist and Nicolai came out after. I shall read it after this book since it technically will not be a re-read for me since I've actually never read their story. 

The spice in this book was nice. It definitely is something that feels very introductory compared to some of the other books out now. By introductory I mean, someone who comes from outside of the genre can jump into this one if they are ready for spice and not be overwhelmed by it. I definitely think the spice was amazing when it got here. Definitely gave it a 3 out of 5 on the spice scale. Overall I gave this book a 4 out of 5. It has high re-read potential and I just really enjoy this story. Emma going from weak to strong and someone who others can respect was very nice. Lachlan overcoming his dislike of vampires for her was definitely elite. Would recommend...highly!! Pick this up and dive into the world of the Immortals After Dark series!!

 The next series that I decided to take on in my re-read sessions was the Wolf Hotel series by KA Tucker. This series was one that I devoured when I originally read it so I wanted to see if it still hit the same as then! This first book definitely has taken advantage of the naive virgin trope and really let it go full tilt. We meet Abbi as she is going through one of the worst moments in her life. The Death King - Review

  Whew, this book has definitely reminded my why I love this authors writing. This book was so so good! I enjoyed stepping into this world of unknowns, dragons and gifted. I will say this is definitely going to be a series that I devour. Be careful of  your triggers with this one because it is definitely a dark fantasy romance. Calista is definitely a fiesta FMC who will fight for what she wants and will take nothing less. She starts out in a pretty terrible situation with no light at the end of the tunnel only to be taken and put into another situation that had the potential to be worse than the previous one that she was in. Then we also have Talon. When we first meet him, he is definitely someone who we are supposed to not like. This is definitely enemy to friends with benefits to enemies and hopefully back to lovers. Ancients - ARC Review

I was not thinking that this book was going to be what it was. Honestly, I'm surprised that I was able to finish this. It feels almost ant-everything that I loved about this author's previous releases. Maybe I've just been steeped in the dark reads for too long or something. This book gave off a kind of self hatred that was almost an instant turn off. Sarah, our FMC, is a vampire who hates drinking blood. So she pretty much walks around half starved for most of the time we see her. So, I'm going to pause and explain why this was an issue for me. So, she proves within a short while that she can feed without harming people because she lets a man go that she was feeding on. WIthout him being any wiser to the situation. Already, she has given herself a solution to the issue. She doesn't want to kill people and we see that she doesn't HAVE to.
