This book is probably not going to be one that will hook you into this series. I'm not too excited to continue. The story wasn't bad it's just not memorable. I also felt like the problem wasn't resolved. The things that ended up getting resolved weren't really... problems. Maybe it's something that is an over arching problem but introducing it as a main thing for this couple and it not being solved within their story really left me feeling kinda empty. There were also some plot holes that had me looking at things funny. I usually am not one to see plot holes immediately but even i was like ....uhhh what. Like how Brielle brought up poison being how an alpha was killed to Kane and then later bringing it up like it was a question. You just told Kane that's what happened! Idk this book just wasn't for me. I wanted to like it more because I love shifter books but...it just didn't hold my interest.
The spice was kinda lackluster. Like it was there but also bland. Not everything has to be crazy but the intensity between the characters wasn't there. The scenes felt like they were written in just to say that they happened but held no enthusiasm. I'd give it a 3 out of 5 because it happened and was open door. Overall, for me this story is not memorable and I will not continue this series. You should always give a book a chance though. Because it wasn't for me, doesn't mean you won't like it.
