The Ever King - Review

Well this was better than I thought it was going to be! Livia did get on my nerves a little in the beginning. She admits to convincing herself that what she knew to be true wasn't and went along with the group instead of believing in herself. Although I will say that she was young when things initially happened so I did give her a pass. I liked getting to met the crew and the amazing world that is the Ever. The vibes in this book was definitely heavy on the pirates and I really loved that. It felt refreshing from what I have been reading. The way I want to get more into this world should be studied. The many different characters, their relationships and everything is very well set up in this book. The power system and everything else is pretty dang interesting as well. I am looking forward to what is about to happen in book two. I'm hoping that we get Livia embracing more of her dark side and empowering herself more since she is in a tricky situation. It's going to be interesting to see how things go for Erik since he now has to face a fathers wrath.

The spice in this book was also pretty amazing as well. I really liked the characters and I it made the scenes hit that much more. 3 out of 5 for the spice. I really love how Erik is also not a traditional MMC. He has scares and is not someone who is typically seen as a beautiful male specimen. He has body issues when it comes to that which is understandable. The world of the Ever and with these other characters has so much to offer and I'm excited to see what it has to offer. I definitely would recommend this to others who are looking for something that is different from what is out there now. Good character and world building makes this a must read for fantasy lovers.
