 I have never been more annoyed than I am right now. I am writing this as I have just finished reading this book and Talwyn....girl....I can't stand you. I didn't like getting to read chapters with her in it, in the previous books and now?!?!?!?!?! I don't want to read one more chapter about her. All her friends deserve better, Azrael deserves better and WE DESERVE BETTER. I have never known a character to be so blind that she would allow the things to happen that Talwyn allows to happen in this book. I hate when everyone betrays everyone ESPECIALLY our MCs. So when a few people in this book do so, I am now enraged. I'm so mad right now I can literally see red. I can't believe how this book ended. I know that the author tried to give us some hope but at this point. Everyone can go. Scarlet can gon ahead and burn it all down cuz not ONE of these people deserve to be in the same room as her. Except Cas of course and few others but the rest. Good bye, good riddance. Toodles. As you can tell, this book has left an impression. I'm trying to keep it nice without spoiling but I'm fired up. There was a lot going on here, from the beginning of this book to all the things we learned up til the end. It'll be interesting to see what else we can learn. Though I will say, I don't know how much more anguish and straight up DISGUST for some of the actions of these characters I can take and there are two more books left.

As for the spice, it was good. I don't know if I was really feeling it between Scarlet and Soren in this one really. It just felt like it was there....it wasn't like...passion like how it felt in the first two books. Maybe it's because there is so much going on and they didn't really come back from being angry with each other yet. Not to mention Scarlet stay talking to Soren crazy. It almost feels like she doesn't respect him. I don't know. I give the spice a 3 out of 5 because it was there and happened but I wasn't feeling it. Overall, there was a lot that went on. From the beginning to the end. Lots of betrayal and lots of reveals. Lots of people that need to be slapped into another realm or something, I don't know at this point. JUST UGH. If you've already started this series, then you definitely will want to continue, just be prepared to be annoyed to high heavens with almost EVERYONE in this book.

 The next series that I decided to take on in my re-read sessions was the Wolf Hotel series by KA Tucker. This series was one that I devoured when I originally read it so I wanted to see if it still hit the same as then! This first book definitely has taken advantage of the naive virgin trope and really let it go full tilt. We meet Abbi as she is going through one of the worst moments in her life.   Whew, this book has definitely reminded my why I love this authors writing. This book was so so good! I enjoyed stepping into this world of unknowns, dragons and gifted. I will say this is definitely going to be a series that I devour. Be careful of  your triggers with this one because it is definitely a dark fantasy romance. Calista is definitely a fiesta FMC who will fight for what she wants and will take nothing less. She starts out in a pretty terrible situation with no light at the end of the tunnel only to be taken and put into another situation that had the potential to be worse than the previous one that she was in. Then we also have Talon. When we first meet him, he is definitely someone who we are supposed to not like. This is definitely enemy to friends with benefits to enemies and hopefully back to lovers. Ancients - ARC Review

I was not thinking that this book was going to be what it was. Honestly, I'm surprised that I was able to finish this. It feels almost ant-everything that I loved about this author's previous releases. Maybe I've just been steeped in the dark reads for too long or something. This book gave off a kind of self hatred that was almost an instant turn off. Sarah, our FMC, is a vampire who hates drinking blood. So she pretty much walks around half starved for most of the time we see her. So, I'm going to pause and explain why this was an issue for me. So, she proves within a short while that she can feed without harming people because she lets a man go that she was feeding on. WIthout him being any wiser to the situation. Already, she has given herself a solution to the issue. She doesn't want to kill people and we see that she doesn't HAVE to.
