This Side of the Grave - Review
This book continues the adventure of Cat and Bones as they navigate a ghoul attempting to start a war over Cats' existence. I liked this one because we not only get to see some growth from Cat but we also get to see the other two couples who have gotten together show out a little bit as well. Keira and Denise definitely showed up and let everyone know that they are not only there for their men but will also fight when needed. Of course the guys have always been ready to lend a hand. Mencherres, Spade and Vlad have always been some of the most ride or die friends that Cat and Bones have in this world. Now of course one of the only single ones is Vlad, and him and Cat talk about it alot. Which reminds me that I can't WAIT to start the Night Prince series! I hope they keep the same narrator for Vlad that they've had through out the Graphic Audio of him in the Night Huntress series. Of course there is something that happens in this book that was pretty inevitable. It was the one thing that kept Cat and Bones apart for awhile...and that's death. I hated to see this character go because they meant a lot to not only Cat but to a lot of the other characters that we have come to know and love. Watching her deal with it even though she is now immortal was an interesting thing. I think she handled it better than some of the characters that I can think of. Her ability to learn quickly from the things that she experiences in life has made Cat a great character.
The spice in this one was pretty minimal. The main focus is definitely the story. I would give the spice a 2 out of 5. Overall, I enjoyed this installment in the series. The banter and the wit that the narrators are able to add to the characters is amazing. The story was great with advancing Cat and Bones to where I know they will eventually be. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has already enjoyed Cat and Bones, if you haven't then you definitely should! This is great for PNR lovers, especially those who enjoy witty vamps who will do whatever it takes for each other.
