Court of Nightmares - Review
This was a smut heavy book. Usually, I have no problem with that but....I also happen to not like Fem Dom situations. I feel like she was dominating the men all the time and there was never a time where it was the opposite really. At first, I didn't even think that she was going to get to know them for real. I mean I don't really know them for real. I feel like I really liked 2 maybe 3 of them and the rest were kinda just there. I think the way, I like situations like this is when the FMC actually gets to know the characters. If it's a fast burn, it can still be heavy on the smut but if I don't feel like I can tell the characters apart then I don't really care for it. With this many men, I think the best way I've seen it done was with Their Vampire Queen. She did have multiple books to do it but even if this one was longer and had more time with Althea getting to know the guys then I would have probably liked this a whole heck of a lot more.
The spice in this book is definitely off the charts. I mean they were banging each other almost from the moment that they met. 5 out of 5 for the spice. Overall, this was an ok read. I hope that the rest of the books are better. I see the count of men changes throughout the series. Hopefully that means we get more time for our characters to really get to know each other a little bit better. The spice can stay at the same level just with more development of the characters. This one was a 3 out of 5 overall for me. I definitely wanted the men to have more moments where they dominated our FMC but again, that's a personal preference. I like my J/P, aggressive MMCs.
