Between Life and Death - Review

This was a good read! We are still slow burning over here because there hasn't really been any spice but the story has been good. Sage, discovers some really interesting truths when she decides to go and save her brother. There is still so much to be revealed. I admit there were parts where the book was a little slow but overall it all seemed to serve a purpose. I am very much interested in seeing how things are going to progress for everyone involved. Of course I have my theories and things that I think will happen and to who. There is also a lot I can't say due to trying to keep this as spoiler free as I can. With that being said though, I do believe that the King is going to make things interesting once Sage does finally meet him. With the advisor saying that he is a friend, I think that it will make the other reveals that we are waiting for that much more interesting. Von, the man that you are. I can't wait for more on him! I did almost shed a tear while reading this book, although I will say it was due to our FMC being not the smartest. I didn't care for that much but the scene in question was just....heart breaking. Also I wanna say, that I called it with the person who ended up betraying everyone. So yes, there is a mini reveal. There is a betrayer amongst us. I think they are pretty easy to spot almost immediately. So when it happened I wasn't surprised it was them.

Like I said, there was little spice in this book. Everything is still simmering in the pot for us. I would give this a 2 out of 5 on this spice scale. Overall, I really can't wait to see where things go after all the reveals that we got at the end of the book. The final chapters did a lot for pushing the story forward and moving us to the next book in the series. It's definitely going to be interesting to see where these characters go from here and how things are going to change with everyone. I definitely would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a nice slow burn romance that is going to make you want more.

      In book 2 of the Betrayal series we are back with Scarlett and Axel. We get introduced to the Skull King and get even more info on the relationship between Axel and his parents. The world is almost flipped on its head in this book and it leaves some of the characters in a tail spin. I feel like while some things were fixed in this book, other things left me wanting to shake just about every character in this book. Scarlett, because for all her smarts, she's blind to the one person who is actually up to no good. Then Axel for not attempting to do something with his parentals. Something has to change with that relationship or he needs to make them accept his help in keeping them safe. It's insane to me that someone as smart as him hasn't come up with a plan to keep his parents safe. Heat For Hire- Review

This was spicy!! I love omegaverse books and this one had everything you could ask for, heats, alphas, slick, knotting and more!! Elli is a scarred omega who is looking to find herself again after surviving cancer. She finds a kindred soul in Rhen who is also disfigured. They both are looking to affirm themselves in their roles. Elli is a human and Rhen is from a different planet but still has the ABO dynamic. I really liked how this world has everything set up and I would love to read more from this world.  The spice was amazing.  If course since it's all about heat they are banging all over the place. 5 out of 5 for spice. Overall this was a really good short read. It felt like a great book to pick up after being lost in the world of dark romance. Rhen is protective and caring for Elli. I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys omegaverse and alien romance!!

Another book that I don't know how to feel about. This is definitely not a slow burn. Its a fast burn with a lot of traumatic moments in between. Definitely think this couple got together based on vibes because after what Tessa went through, I'd be staying away from men. I will say there were some unintentional funny moments. Like one where they were getting it on and Gracin asked for a condom. I was like sir...that ship has sailed many bruises ago. Also the fact that instead of immediately leaving the states before anyone knows anything, Tessa decides to move to LA. I coulda choked her myself! Don't get it twisted yall this is definitely a full on dark romance. Check your triggers because this one was could be a little hard for some folks.  The spice in this was ok.
