Wildborn - Review

The idea of this book was good. However, if felt like a lot of fluff. We spent a lot of time traveling with the characters without a lot of stuff happening. I don't want the plot rushed but I also don't want things to feel like they're dragging. This felt like it was dragging. I really wanted a little more from this book. More about the Veynari, how we encountered Ivar and the humans that were with them, Vorn, how humans have managed to get on Mars, why are we on Mars. There was room for explanation/exploration of these things that I feel like would have made the fluff feel better. I did like meeting these two and watching them work through their individual trauma with each other.
The spice was ok. Idk, it almost felt like something was missing but I honestly couldn't tell you what exactly. I know that's terrible but yeah. I give the spice a 3 out of 5. Overall, I'm on the fence about continuing this series. I'm curious about some characters we've met and how things are going to with them. At the same time, I don't want another wordy slug fest. Every book doesn't need to be 400 pages. Sometimes 250 is enough. I think anyone who loves the slow burn and alien romance will like this... but beware of how slow things are.
