So...I couldn't wait to jump straight into this book after that cliffy in book one. Mistakes were made. Now my feelings are hurt. Shouldn't have finished this on a bright Saturday morning. Cried my eyes out, yup, Liv decided to hurt us. I mean, I was choked up then and I'm choked up now. The thing for me about dark romance MMCs is that you either love them or hate them. Both of those emotions usually run deep and hard for those characters. So sometimes it's hard to leave them and I feel that way about these two MMCs. Anyway, there are some predictable parts in this one as well but there are also some surprises! I wasn't surprised by the actions of some characters in this book because they are despicable and remain that way. I was proud of Galantia for reclaiming her power and realizing that she is strong and doesn't have to be a damsel. By the end of this book, things were looking up and as much as it hurt to say goodbye, I loved the time spent with these characters and the world.
The spice was fantastic in this book! It's very spicy. Almost more so than the first. 5 out of 5 again for spice. Overall this was nearly a 5 star read for me just from the emotions that were elicited. I gave it a 4 or of 5. The growth of the characters through this duet was good. Just about everyone changed by the end of the book and it was for the better for the most part. Though prepare for heartbreak by the end. Keep your tissues near!! I would recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the first book and doesn't mind the darkness of these characters. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
