End of the Month Wrap-Up -February 26

This month went by fairly quickly. I feel like I've been saying that for the past few months but all of them seem to be speeding by before I can really get comfortable with the it. This month was filled with reads from black authors and I really loved it. I do wish that there was more available as audiobooks and more fantasy/PNR!! The contemporary reads that I read though...were amazing. There are definitely some new to me authors that I am adding to my list of authors that I need to read more from. Getting to throw an authors entire backlog on my TBR list is a pleasure! This month I was able to get through 13 books and it was such an enjoyable journey for the most part. I can't wait to read more from these authors. I've got the usual superlatives but this month was hard to choose on a few of them so I have some honorable mentions. With that being said, let's see what all I've read this month!

Favorite Character - Angel (Escorting the Yakuza): I always love a strong FMC and I felt like Angel was one of the strongest. Not only in physical ability but also in mental ability as well. She went through a lot in her life and even though she spent most of it running, she was still able to realize she needed to change. Being the Takeshi and Shinji definitely made her stronger and I love that for her. I really liked her and the story she had with them. HONORABLE MENTION: Sade (As You Are), she is another strong character that I loved. She let her guard down with our MMC even though she was still strong and gave him a run for his money. I can't wait to see where things go for them in the next book!

Best Cover - As You Are: I mean does anything need to be said? This freaking cover is gorgeous beyond belief. That alone made me want to pick this book up. I mean HOT. This cover draws your eye into the characters immediately. You can see their strength and the connection. Even though book 2 has the same cover. I am just floored by it!

Best Narration - Stalked by Seduction and Shadows: I really loved the narrators in this book. I mean holy smokes, they blew me out of the water honestly. I liked everything about these two together, individually and when they had their solo chapters. This book was so hot! Like my goodness. I can't wait to listen to more with these narrators.

Top Baddie - Parents: This was a hard category to choose for this month. There was a lot of circumstantial issues as well as things that weren't just physical. However there was a common theme among a few of the books that definitely had similar issues. The parentals. In Vicious Society, Xavier, definitely had issues with his dad that was pushing the story along. Maid for the Yakuza, was Portia's mother in law more than her actual parents. I still put her in that category though because she was a parental figure. She was a bad one for sure. Without A Witness had poor Leticia having two sets of horrible parents and I just can't even believe she was as amazing as she was, with parents like hers.

Spiciest Book - Our Vicious Oaths: These two were sexing all over the place in this book. I mean they were seriously banging from the very beginning and that continued through out the entire book. Even though at times I didn't believe in their connection. They definitely were banging...like for awhile in the book. So this was hands down one of the spicier books that I have read this month.

Best Storyline - Elevator Pitch: I really loved this story. These characters. Everything was amazing. I loved how everything unraveled with these two. It wasn't too fast and it wasn't too slow. They both felt like they could be anyone and everyone. They had growth that they both needed to do to be the best version of themselves for each other and I really liked getting to watch it in this story. I would definitely recommend this book! HONORABLE MENTION: Stalked by Seduction and Shadows. I loved getting to see these two finally get together. I was invested in how and if they would cave to each other. I definitely knew that Scarlett was more than what she appeared. And when we finally find out, things went sideways. Talk about a cliff hanger! I can't wait to see how things progress with these two in the next book.

Author of the Month - Melverna McFarlane: I loved both of the books I was able to read from these authors! I can't believe how good they were. I want to immediately download her backlog and internet stalk her along with my other fave authors. I would definitely recommend her series to others! I have enjoyed getting to know the Kimura's and I can't wait for book 3!

Book of the Month - Elevator Pitch: I really liked this book. I can't say it enough. It gave me depth, it gave me growth and it gave me spice. All the things that I enjoy in a story. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. I am also going to add this author to my must read backlog. This one was definitely the best read of the month. Grayson and Selah both made me love them as individuals and even more together when they finally let it happen.
