God of War - Review

The conclusion to the Legacy of Gods series was not what I was expecting it to be. I definitely felt like this one was a little all over the place. I didn't know how to feel about either one of the MCs in this one. I will say that I did listen to the audible version of this and I definitely did not vibe with the female narrators voice. I let it go though and continued to listen. So far in this series, I have loved the mental health representation and maybe there is someone out there who can relate to what was going on with Ava but I felt like her reactions were a little all over sometimes. Like I don't even think it has anything to do with her illness and everything to do with how she was written. The back and forth with her feelings just felt tiring. You know that they care for each other but their actions at times definitely did not reflect that. At times it was illogical. I didn't feel them falling for each other the way that you feel it with the other characters. Even though there is a time skip in this book, it just felt....off. I don't know. I just wanted more from the couple that we kind of got glimpses of throughout the other characters books.

The spice was pretty good. Even though, they themselves (and us the reader) might have been a little confused on how to handle each other. One thing that this author does well is her spice scenes. I give it a 3 out of 5. Overall, this book left a weird taste in my mouth. Like I kinda skimmed the ending because I just wasn't super invested in how things were going to end between these characters. I'm glad they eventually did reconcile but the turmoil that they went through to get there was just...a lot. I almost wish this series ended with us getting something more with Remi and Ari than here. I would still recommend this series but I would definitely say it has a game of thrones ending.
