Obsession (The Mate Games War) - Review
This book came out swinging. I mean I felt like a hot wheels car that touched the track and immediately took off. The characters in this book are interesting and I definitely like some of them. I really am trying to understand the dynamics with Sunday and the other men. I understand Kingston, even though I don't really like him at the moment. I understand Noah, it was an instant attraction type deal and she felt it too. He is the uncomplicated type of love. Alec, is interesting since he's one that I don't quite see how he fits, other than the calming situation. Caleb, is another that is interesting. The whole priest thing and the scene we got at the end of the book....I don't know how to interpret that. I know what it looks like but what is really going on there. The fact that this is another situation of parents behaving badly, I am just rolling my eyes. Because why the heck are so many of these parents trash? Get it together! Right now, I don't even know which one of the guys I'm rooting for. Noah would be a no brainer but I really want to see Kingston work things out and get his head out of his butt. So I hope we get to see more in the next book. The things that are happening in the background almost feel like exactly that...background. It is definitely secondary to her figuring out what to do with these guys. I feel like I should be focused on the whole demon thing, prophecy and her wolf situation but I'm more focused on how she's gonna get these guys in line. Unsure as of yet if that is a good thing or no.
The spice in this book was nice. Even though she only really got it on with one of the guys, the spark and moments were there with the other three. I give this a 4 out of 5 for the spice. Overall, I'm interested in where things are going to go. Mainly because I want to see how she gets these guys in line with each other. I'm unsure about what is going on with the whole apocalypse sub-plot. Hopefully we get something to happen that makes it more interesting in the second book. She has one guy locked down and now there is only 3 more to go! I think I'd recommend this if you are looking for the romance to be the main thing you read and the other stuff to really feel like background noise.
