Split - ARC Review

Whew, I have to come down from the information dump that just happened in order to be able to actually type right now. My goodness! There is so much happening right now that it is actually kinda crazy! I'll give a brief synopsis on where we are with everyone Titus (hate), is on the move and bringing the war to fruition with the North. He has so many secrets that no one really knows everything. One thing we do know is that he is definitely a pawn for Mother. Mother (hate x2), OMG we know who she is now and her relation to known characters!! Of course we still don't know exactly what went down to get everyone and everything to where it is now. If everyone didn't know already, we have 1 million percent confirmation that certain characters have been around since the surge originally happened (big gasp). Kara, we are still in limbo with what is truly happening with her and the babies. I am on tenderhooks here waiting to see how this plays out. Our badass FMC is still doing the

Queen Takes Rook - Review

We are back again with Shara and the guys and this time she is gearing up to make her move against the Triune. Everything is not all grand with things with Mayte as Shara prepares to leave. She ends up encountering Ra's minions once again. Again Shara is able to prevail but not before she has to make a promise that brings her to tears to make. Even though she doesn't want to do it, for the good of everyone she knows she must. After finally returning home and getting a chance to hang out and recharge with her guys, she begins to make her big move. A lot of layers gets pulled back when she goes to New York to confront her first Queen. There are so many reveals here that if you weren't ready, you would almost get drowned in all the information that comes here. It was sad and yet satisfying to read. As a mother myself you can really feel for the characters during this sequence in the book. You would do just about any and everything for your child. Here we see that displayed in

What Lies Within Masks and Shadows - Review

This book was a struggle to get through. I really enjoyed what was going on with the story but it just felt like there was so many unnecessary pages that I had to slug through. The FMC continued to waffle and really made me want to shake her because ma'am the way that you were ok with something one second and now it's a problem is insane. I really wanted her to be able to get over the situation with her ex-fiance. I feel like there is something else at play there with how that situation is playing out. Another thing that was kind of meh for me, was the fact that Alora was said to have fighting skills and even after months fighting and training with the Dragons, she still seems like a damsel in distress when it comes to getting into fights. I feel like her and Garrick have the potential to be THE power couple. Though if she can't seem to fight without using her power though then what even is the point? She uses these skills against Garrick (even though she loses) yet she c

End of the Month Wrap Up - October 2024

It's time for me to Wrap Up October! It has been a crazy month and one that, while I'm glad that it's over, it will be one that I will never forget. I found a lot of new authors and I read some great stories that I didn't think I'd like! I was only able to read 6 books this month. I did have 2 that I ended up DNFing but I won't count them since I never finished them. So with that being said, let's see the books that survived my crazy October!      Top Baddie  - Reshe (Daughter of No World's) : Reshe was the type of baddie that is hard to fight because she is in you. She was not a physical entity that could be fought. On top of that there was the fact that she carried so many memories in her. Anything that you have thought to do to her has been done before. Anything that is that old would have resentment and she was full of it. Even though, the person who she had previously, she apparently developed "feelings" for (Max). It made things that muc

Daughter of No World's - Review

This book was probably better than I thought it was going to be. I really enjoyed the characters and the world that was built. It was very light on the romance but it definitely managed to shine through when needed. I also would like to add that it did feel like it kind of dragged at certain points in the story and I would have liked if some things were sped up a little. Other than that though things were nice. The story of Max and how he came to be how he was, was tragic. Of course that's the truth of some of the "heroes" of wars. I am interested in seeing how things continue in the next book. Not only with Max, but definitely with Tisannah and the order. I also want to say that I listened to this in it's audiobook form and this was it was um...interesting. You could hear everything with this audio. I mean everything. Every breath that the voice actors took, any noise in their background, page turns and everything. I have been spoiled with these full cast audios and

Giving the Dragon Ice - Review

This book was....different. It was definitely not what I thought it was going to be. Usually when there is a shifters they still have humanish babies. Well when they were discussing it in this book they definitely laid eggs. I wanted to delve further into this. I was very intrigued. Does the shifter lay the egg in dragon form? Does she stay in dragon form for the majority of the time until she has the egg? Is there multiple eggs or just one. I know that from reading the story that she definitely didn't stay in dragon form despite an egg growing in her body so I want to know the science behind that. Also there apparently is only one egg? So I guess it kinda follows human biology there? This was probably the most interesting part of this story for me. I was slightly obsessed with figuring this out. On the other hand the rest of the story had quite a few hic cups for me. Like the fact that they made the race thing weird. I know people hate discussing this but as someone who this aff

God of Wrath - Review

This book definitely brought me back into this series! I enjoyed the dynamic between Cecily and Jeremy. They definitely seemed like they were very well matched here! You could feel their chemistry. I love it when you can actually tell that the characters really seem to belong together. Another thing that I have really, really liked about this series is how it is truly interconnected. Like things are happening simultaneously within the series. So we get to see events that we watched happen in other series through the eyes of these characters now that they are telling their story. I wish that more interconnected series were like these. For the most part other interconnected series are just that they are in the same world with characters that we've already met. So, we see the party, the initiation of the Heathens and everything through the eyes of Cecily and Jeremy. The only part that I wish that we got to see through them was the events that surrounded Creighton and Annika in the pr

Broken Whispers - Review

This book was just what I needed to take me out of my reading funk! I burned through this book in what 2 days...maybe 1. This book was such an interesting read! It truly was almost like beauty and the beast! I would definitely say that this book was a little sweeter than I thought it was going to be. Mikhail and Bianca had such a beautiful story and just meshed together very well They both had scars that the two of them had to get over for the other. For Mikhail is was the scaring to his body and for Bianca it was the let down of no longer to do what she loved, ballet. I was also very glad that the FMC did not shy away from the life that the MMC led. Instead of trying to change him and make him better, she accepted that this is  the life that they are going to lead and she just needed to make sure that her man was taken care of and felt loved. I find myself kind of rebelling against the idea that these women are meant to change these men who have led these dark lives for all their liv

One Foot In the Grave - Review

This book has been a school on female badassery!! I mean Cat was out here serving it to whoever was out there trying to dish it. It was nice seeing her take on people without Bones. It gives us a solid view on her strength and how much of a threat her uniqueness is. While I loved their time apart, them getting back together was that much better! I loved seeing how much they both cared about each other and almost seemed to not miss a beat despite being apart for years. Knowing how strong they are apart just let's you know how much of a force they will be together! Not to mention that ending?! It almost feels like I'm reading this for the first time! I forgot that's how things became official!! This reread journey has been great and I can't wait to dive back into these two!! Its really hard to judge the spice in this audiobook and I can't remember what it was when I actually read it but at this moment I give it a 3. Overall I give this a 4 out of 5. I enjo

Captured Fate - Review

I was so excited to get back into this series! Only for it to let me down. I was not excited about anything that was going on. This book just felt over all depressing. Like there are dark reads but then there is this. I think there is the darkness on top of the fact that things were paced very slowly that just ended up making this entire book feel like a snoozefest. There was nothing really memorable about what happened and almost all of the new characters that we end up meeting feel kind of expendable. The whole rinse wash and repeat feel of the events that are happening just wash things out. We do get to meet Griffin who we all thought was dead up until the last book but really....his return didn't make things in this book any more...exciting. You'd think that it would since he was such a polarizing character throughout the first few books in this series but alas....no. The fact that we are back with the Guardians again is just meh and even though there is another evil by t

I can't believe I waited this long to indulge in this world!! I was thinking this was going to be more YA for some reason. Oh no...this is no where near that!! I really enjoyed Memnon and Selene. I loved their interaction with each other and how quirky Selene is. Of course I also loved how crazily obsessed Memnon is with Selene. I can't wait for them to get together even though Memnon is a tad on the crazy side. He's entirely part of the touch her and die gang. Like literally, he'd annihilate everyone. This should definitely be interesting to see why things are the way the are in the next book!! I have no negatives for this book.      The spice is giving slow burn. I am ready to explode. I have to give it a 3 because there was literally nothing between the characters but you feel it. You just know it's going to be amazing once it happens and man.....I can't wait. I give this book a 5 overall! I really loved it. The way the magic system is and the mys

Here we go! It's the end of the month again. I feel like I blinked and the month was over!! I read some pretty amazing books in this month! There is one that I haven't done the official post for but the review is up already and this book is my top for this month! I loved it!! Stay til the end to find out which one!! So, also some updates for next year! I'm investing in getting some upgrades so I can improve my content creation! I want to have more interaction with YOU my fellow readers, as well as just plain having fun making fun stuff for the things that I love. So look forward to that! I've also been contemplating adding to my platforms with Tik Tok! I'm thinking up some content that will not only help my fellow readers but also the authors who are just some exposure away from achieving their dreams. You'll slowly start to see me adding more content to my Bookstagram as time progresses and eventually I want to reopen my book club! Wish me luck and drop some i

Queen Takes Queen - Review

We are back again with Shara and the guys!! This time they have to take on the protection the nest and each other as Shara begins to realize more and more that she's going to have a definite run in with some of the other Queens sooner than she wants. Shara is really beginning to come more into her own here and we see just how much when she gets to meet another more established Queen. Shara also gains quite a few more blood here! We get Nevarre, Ezra and the Twins. I can't wait to see how more of their personalities come out. Nevarre has an amazing accent and brings us the great Scottish accent, Ezra is an unruly bear who has a tendency to speak before he thinks and last but not least the Twins, who were desperate to finally find a Queen. We don't know much about their personalities yet since Shara just gets them added to her Blood at the end of this book. She meets Mayte Zania and her Blood when she goes to Mexico and we see how technical things can be when a Queen meets

Ruthless King - Review

This was a spicy and fun read! I really enjoyed getting to know the Sokolov brothers! Their story was tragic and crazy but definitely worth the ride that we went on in this book! This book has what you can expect from an omegaverse book, muscle bound alphas with aggression issues, middle of the road betas and the soft spoken and often over looked omegas. The omegas in this world are pretty much subject to whatever the alpha's want. They are believed to just be bed warmers. I do like the idea that the omega's have power that can only be used to it's full potential if the alpha that bonds them actually cares about them. It makes the men have to actually try to care if they want power. Most of the omega's in this world do not have access to their gifts past puberty due to them not forming bonds that are forged with love. Of course this is something that most alpha's ignore and has been lost, for the most part, to the pages of history. Until vengeance brings these two

This book continues where the first book left off and we are thrust right back into the thick of things with the Mafia Pack. Unfortunately, things are not going that well for everyone. Our couple is not in a good place with each other and this continues through out the book. Every step that they attempt to take to free the people of the tyranny they are in just makes things worse. Until things come to a head. This book was full of ups and downs and unexpected happenings. I couldn't believe how crazy things got! I'm very interested in how things are going to go from here!! Betrayal and more happens to drive the story in this book. With our characters not trusting each other and then there actually being untrustworthy beings, we have no idea what's about to happen. This book was well done and I enjoyed the story. I'm looking forward to what happens in the next book. Things are being set up very nicely for our MC's. The truth is about to be revealed. The spice in thi
