Twist Me - Review

I had a rough time with this book. Not because it's dark romance, I love a good dark romance, but because it just didn't feel like the characters ever really fell for each other, it just felt dark. There wasn't really a moment where I felt like, ok, this guy deserves her even though he is a dark and dangerous guy. It just felt like he kidnapped this girl and brain washed someone else into making her believe she should stay. Even when she basically gave in and wanted to stay with him, it just felt like....she'd gotten used to that life and didn't want anything to change. It didn't feel like there was really any type of emotional connection anywhere in this book. Then when the random bad guys came and stole her, it was just...random. Her appendix randomly goes out...idk, I just didn't believe it. I guess, that's my issue. I wasn't sold on this story at all. I don't believe that Julian loved her. It felt like he just wanted to keep her as his pet. I didn't believe that Nora loved him either. Felt like she was just eventually dickmitized into staying with him. They just didn't spend enough time together for me to believe in any type of romance between them. I felt more of a connection between her and the guy who Julian had beat up than I did with her and Julian.

The spice is there but again it didn't really hit for me. Since it didn't really feel like there was a moment that they connected. They didn't even really stick in my mind after I read them. So for this one, I'm giving it a 3 out of 5 because it is there and there is multiple scenes but just know the quality of those scenes, in my opinion, is not that great. Overall, I would probably not really recommend this book. I can't even say the spice was that amazing and the story just felt very lackluster to me. As always, pick up a book and try it for yourself, you may have a different opinion than me.
