The Cliffiest of Cliff Hangers

Image
Whew,  I received this ARC for a honest review of this book. Let me just say that this was cruel and unusual punishment!! Like the title for this review says, the biggest cliff, in cliffhanger history ends this book.  The next page asks us to wait until next year for the next book.  I won't survive. I will spend the next week writing down theories of how this could continue.      The characters in this book are so memorable!! I love a snarky heroine and her dark hero. These two are actually a match made in... well hell? Darkness? I don't know but I can't wait to read more when the next book in this series drops. I definitely recommend this book!! The spice didn't come to the end but it was hot !! I give the spice 3 out of 5 simply because I wish there was more!! It was so good! Overall I'd rate this book 4 out of 5!! Great works building,  great characters, and plot. Everything is paced nicely and it definitely leaves you...

Expect the Unexpected

This book was so good but it was predictable. From the moment that we discover that the two characters have the same marks the ending is predictable. Mind you how they got there was the interesting part. I enjoyed the journey even though I knew how things was going to end by the time this book ended. I'm interested in seeing how things progress from here. I have my predictions but since this isn't a spoiler review,  I won't say anything. I liked that Estrella wanted more for herself than what was dictated to her but the fact that it was constantly a point of contention was a little annoying. I almost wish they had more petty things to argue about than whether he saw her as his equal or not. I do want more info on some things that happened but I feel like we're going to get that in the next book.      The spice in this book had so much potential!! I think my idea of how things should be tainted my view of how they happened. I exp...

A Doctor and a Set

This book was very meh for me. Maybe it's because it wasn't very long so we didn't get the time with characters I like. I wanted the motivation for the bad guy fleshed out a little more. It seemed pretty basic. Not to mention the fact that there are gods who have come out to people but no one made the connection to this guy's name was kinda weird. That's were definitely some holes but it's a quick read with some spicy scenes.       The spicy scenes weren't very hot to me but maybe it's again because I didn't feel a connection to the characters like I normally enjoy. I'd give it a 2 out of 5. Overall it was also a 2 out of 5 for me.  I just didn't connect with the characters not did I connect too much with the story. Everything was just over too quickly and glossed. I wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for a little depth. It's good of you just need something quick and don't plan on getting connected much.

Tropes In Reality- Age Gap Romance

Image
Here we go with another week and another chance to highlight some of your favorite tropes and see how they would actually work out in real life! This week we will be focusing on our love for age gap novels. Are you able to draw a line in the sand when it comes to age gap novels? If there are supernatural creatures involved does that make it ok or do they fall into the same boundary of yuck? Are there any hard limits when it comes to the relationship the two characters have with each other prior to them becoming a couple? How does the introduction go with family members when they realize that there is one party in the relationship that is either very young or very old? These are the questions that I want to know your thoughts on and I will try to give my answer and response to.           Let's start out with the Pros and Cons, like every good little list should start with! Pros: There is someo...

A Father's Love

Image
This book is told pretty much entirely from King Traevons POV. We get a little background on him as well as some of the other rulers who go on the journey to retrieve Trixie and Athon from Fairy. I wish we'd gotten a little bit more on Minnie and Traevon getting together. I feel like their story would be so interesting and the little tidbits that we got in this book just made me wanna know their story that much more!! Reading about a young Traevon with some time jumps in the book would be great!! How did he become King if his mother is still alive? What happened to his father?! The mini flashback of the rulers as youths...omg so interesting!! One thing this author does well is making you care about characters. Even the little side characters because even when the story was mostly being told from Trixie and Athons POVs, I was very interested in the other rulers lives. I hope we get like a novella or something with their stories!!     I enjoy...

Sad Endings

I enjoyed this series up until this book. It really felt like Jade was sidelined in this book for the other characters. I'm glad that she met them and that we're getting the different POVs but there just seemed that Jade was always the main character of the story until this book. The fact that she was so selfless actually was a negative here. I wanted her to be a little more selfish with the men. By that I mean,  everytime she was involved with a sexual situation, she just about never had a 1v1 moment. All the other characters did with each other, so that part was a little annoying. There were also a lot of moments that felt like the story could have been wrapped up earlier than it was. Everything felt a little dragged out which ended up with me DNFing this series essentially.     I'm very sad about it because I really enjoyed this series. But this ending was really not it for me. The spice was ok but I didn't enjoy it as much as...

New World, New Me!!

This book was a journey.... in exercising my need to yell at the FMC. Talia is stuck in the world of the fae and is being treated poorly by the group that had captured her for her blood. The story itself is very involved because there is a lot going on for us to uncover. At first I thought one of the characters was going to get a redemption arc but alas that didn't happen. There is so much left to be told about every character in the story. This book really felt like a prologue because we get what feels like the beginning of the story between Talia and the group of fae Wolves she's been found by. In book 2 hopefully we'll get that more indepth info on the guys,  the world and what she really is.      There is unfortunately not a drop of spice in this book. Not an ounce of spicy happens unless you count kissing. So here's to hoping that we get more in the next book as well since everything with our characters have been resolved.  No...
