Savage Games - ARC Review

Image
I really liked this book! This one definitely hit a little better than the first one did. I still wanted to yell at the FMC, Naomi, due to being silly. I loved that Wyatt was able to stand up for himself and get the girl as well. I was curious about him ever since we first met him in the first book. The Games have not ended with the end of this book, so it will be interesting how that goes. We were able to get small glimpses of Jamie in this book. I was hoping that we were going to get more of her but she definitely made herself known when needed. This book took a lot of the tropes that you love about the shifter sub-genre and made great use of it. I really liked getting to see and learn more about Wyatt. I loved seeing that there were more strong females in this world than just Jamie. It will definitely be interesting to see how things progress in the rest of this series!  As for the spice, it was nice. There wasn't much in this one until later like the previous book. I woul...

End of the Month Wrap Up - April/May 25

Image
So this month I am going to lump April and May together since April didn't really have a lot to choose from. I will denote one from the other when I remember. Thanks so much for being here with me through the rough patches and enabling me to continue doing what I love! So with that being said, I am finally feeling more like myself and I'm burning through these pages! I can't wait to share how these last few months and the reads that came with them have gone. Let's see how the books I read these last 2 months stack up! I going to start with the April reads and then move into the May reads! Favorite Character:   Isa (Until Death Do Us Part)-   Isa really shined in this book. She had a lot going on, with being pregnant and then mourning some important people in her life. I really loved how she finally was embracing her life for what it was and was able to not back down. Then when push came to shove she was able to depend on not only her man but also on herself! GROWTH! Th...

A Game of Fate - Review

Image
This book was sooo much better than I thought it was going to be. To be able to get the other side of the coin in their story has been amazing!! I really loved the details and the side things that were going on in this one. You learn so much from seeing things from Hades perspective!! I think that I am going to continue to go side to side with this series. Reading from Persephone's side and then swapping over to Hades side. This novel helped add some depth to the story that I didn't even know I was missing when I read A Touch of Darkness. Though I can already tell that this series is definitely going to be one of my favorites! I enjoyed getting to see how Hades saw the events but also a different side to some of the characters that we barely touched on when we were in Persephone's POV. I loved Hecate in her book but I fell that much more for the goddess when I was reading this book! We also see more of the other characters like Hermes and Hephaestus even Aphrodite! It just...

Bride of Brutal Hearts - ARC Review

Image
This book....whew. So, let me start with the things that I enjoyed. I liked the world set up. Even though things are heavily skewed in the favor of the vampires, there is still a lot of cool lore in this book. The Godstars and the craters, the magic system and runes, everything was laid out nicely for us. The way that the King of Dawn and Dusk were set up was also a nice different thing that what I was used to. Now, let's jump into some peeves. I don't really care for extreme power imbalances and this one is extreme. From the fact that Nessa starts out completely powerless to where she ends up in the end of the book. I could almost scream at how frustrating this is. I mean, the back and forth that she has in her mind where she is just all about sharing her body with them but also morally disliking them was low key exhausting. I felt for her but also girl what? Then everything that begins to unfold later one almost threw me for a loop. Like I don't know whether or not I lik...

Rhapsodic - Review

Image
This book almost felt like a flash back to a different time for me. I loved being in my dark romance era. Where all the men are not afraid to tell you that they are dark and for the women to not only be ok with that, but to be just as dark as they are. They have a moral code and no one on the outside would be able to look at them and definitively say that they are evil but if you cross them then you will find out. THAT'S what I like! The Bargainer AKA Desmond Flynn, is not afraid to do whatever it takes to be with Cali. Even if that meant denying himself her. Now I know there are a lot of people who feel weirded out by the whole age gap thing when it comes to supernatural creatures. I however am not. I think that there is definitely a point where these creatures can still experience new things or rediscover their love of something through the eyes of someone who hasn't lived as long and is a heck of a lot less jaded in life. With that being said. This only applies to the world ...

Until Death Do Us Part - Review

Image
It is truly a testament to how good this series is that it has been like at least a year or so since I've read the previous book in this series and yet, I picked up like it was only last week. These characters were so memorable and the situations that they were in were ones that stuck with me. So when I finally started the last book in this series it felt like I never left. Isa and Rafe have had a rough go of things but they have managed to come together and have one of the best relationships. Despite so many things being against them, they were still able to end up together by the end of the series. Things were looking a little bleak for awhile there but they were able to not only work out their issues but to also slay just about all the of remaining dragons that stood in their way. The road there was very crazy. There has been death at almost every corner and Isa has had to deal with her humanity while loving a man who seemed to almost have none. All he cared about were his peop...

Stone Cold Queen - Review

Image
Well we are getting slowly but surely closer to the truth of who wants Avalon where she is and why. A lot of things are revealed in this book. Not everything, but a lot of the pieces and players are finally making themselves known. Some of them were obvious and others weren't. I won't spoil it but one someone we have already met outs themselves in this book. Their reasoning was a little weird to me but the fact that they were out to get Avalon was pretty obvious. The rest though, I definitely need some more details on what the heck is happening because, the plot has thickened! I have my predictions on why I think this is happening but no idea why! Dean's father makes himself a part of the plot in this book and it just makes you wonder what they heck he did to his son! On top of that we find out that there are even more players in this game then we thought! I am mystified by what is going on! My prediction without spoiling things is that Avalon's father is someone who ...
