Barbarian Mine - Review

Image
I have to say, out of all the IPB books I've read so far, this one has been my least favorite. There was just something about how they met and then eventually got together that just didn't work for me. I think if they had more of an opportunity to get speak with each other and grow then I would have liked it better. I do know that this series is pretty fast paced when it comes to the couples getting together but I feel like this one had even less of the characters actually...doing that. I don't believe in their connection like I do with Georgie and Liz. It all felt like it happened in the blink of an eye and then she was preggers. Then with the other surprise that we have thrown at us...it...just didn't feel as nice. I definitely have to go back and read the book that I skipped but...I hope that it is better than this one was. Either I missed it or I don't think it was explained why Rukh didn't know the language of the people of the planet...nor English was a l...

Vicious Saint - ARC Review

Image
Welcome back to the world of the Royal Heathens!! I was so excited to see one of my favorites back in action! This time we get to see Saint and Hendrix get their time to shine! There is a lot going on in the world of the Heathens even with their leader out of the picture. There is movement within the underworld and it coming to haunt each of them it seems. In this book, we see Hendrix having to deal with some skeletons of her own. I always liked her, in the first book and even more in this one. Her artistic heart and tough as nails exterior definitely made her a character that is likable. She doesn't really waste time on silly things and she is a straight to the point sharp shooter! If you like your FMCs with a lot of fire and the wits to back it up then you will definitely like Hendrix. Then we dive into our off the wall MMC, Saint! As a guy who has everything he wants on the outside when it comes to his internal demons, they are nothing to play with. He is dealing with some ment...

Eternal Reign - Review

There is so much I could say about this book. The frustration that I felt while reading it.  The fact that I initially said that I DNF'd it but actually continued to listen to it... crazy work.  I liked the premise that the book had and that's what kept me hooked. One of the FMC's though... put me through the ringer. Montana.... girl, please get your life together. My level of annoyance with her was extreme. The fact that she didn't really seem to think through her actions, made me almost have a stroke. Callie, was ok for the most part... until close to the end, then she decided to have her bout with stupidity. That is my main issue with these characters. The MMCs were fine. The idea of the world was interesting and pretty cool.  There was no spice in the book. It definitely makes sense for what was going on. So 0 on the spice scale. Overall, I'll give this a 3 out of 5. I want to see how this resolves itself. I hope that the characters get better with t...

Dom - Review

Image
Jumped back into the Alliance series with book 3, Dom. He definitely did not disappoint.  He was possessive, crazy and obsessed with Val and I loved that for her. She is another thick Queen who found her man. Even though things were set up from the beginning, we see them thrive in their relationship. I did kinda want Val to be a little more assertive but I still liked her character. She was able to be fiesta yet vulnerable. Even though she had a lot of bad things happen to her in her life she still was able to be a good person. I wanted a little more kingpin moves from Dom but I see he was a little. Busy and we did get to see some of his domineering side when push came to shove. I always enjoy it when we get to see characters from the previous book in the current book and we get that here. King, Savannah and Nero and Payton all make appearances in this book! We also get a peak at the last guy in our alliance series, Hans!  This book was definitely spicy. The scenes...

Captive of the Horde King - Review

Yasss, I love my alien romance! I liked this book! Even though Luna made me roll my eyes and have to put my book down a few times. I really enjoyed it. She was just a little bit too nice at times and it definitely got her in trouble. Though of course she ended up learning from her mistakes but still...GIRL. I laughed and I was a little sad while reading this book but overall it definitely gave the dosage of alien that I needed. Dakkar is definitely somewhere that I would like to return to. I think getting a book from the eyes of the MMC in this one would have been interesting. Arokan was learning about Luna, the same way that she was learning about him and I really liked their journey to getting to know each other. Might I also see a little something blossoming with two of the other characters that we meet in this book?  The spice in this book was doing it's thang! I really liked where it happened in the book and it didn't seem frivolous and long when we did get to the scene...

End of the Month Wrap Up - August 2025

Image
Here we are again folks! On time this time at that! Unfortunately, we are on time for one of the smaller months on my reading list so far. I have been one busy bee. I have been traveling here and traveling there. I guess I'll accept the short list for this month since it wasn't due to me being morose but more so because I was busy! This month I was only able to read 6 books. They were all definitely good reads though. I don't think there was a bad one among them. Let's check em out and then get the break down! Favorite Character   : Amara (The Emperor) - I loved Amara in this book! I mean she didn't allow a traumatic experience to shape her life. She was able to fight through that and was able to embrace the love that was waiting for her with Dante. They had to wait awhile and have faith in each other but it all paid off for them in the end. Even though we find out later that there were people in her life that did not have her best interest at heart, she didn...

Fourth Wing - Review

This book was more interesting than I thought. There are so many people who love this series. I can definitely see why they did. I enjoyed it as well. Violet's mother was definitely a very annoying person. I could not stand her. I just don't understand how there are so many books where the parents are just terrible. This is one of them. Of course the father in this book was great but he was dead before we even got the chance to know him. Then the sister was also pretty amazing. I loved that she was very close to her sister. Then seeing her be able to take all the blows that she was given and keep getting better. Then she was able to take in everything that she already knew and applied it to what she has now. I definitely like that about her character. Especially since she was able to be logical about things when they didn't make sense instead of just being blinded by what she is told and taking it as gospel. I definitely loved her character. Though I can definitely see th...
