What Would You Do to Remember

Image
This book was ok. I am still not sure how I feel about it.  I don't hate it but I also don't love it. It was truly a meh read to me. I'm going to go ahead and say this review will have spoilers!! If you want to see my thoughts without the spoilers skip to the last paragraph!! Let's get to it!    So I couldn't really give reasons on why I was meh on this book without giving examples from the book. So I didn't like that the issues weren't big enough to warrant the actions of the characters. At this point in the story we know that the 4 horsemen have known Scarlett before this.  Everything they've accomplished til this point has been to get her back. Which... I guess. We don't really get any backstory on how everyone met our know each other. I almost felt like they were all in foster care or something with each other and bonded that way but I'm unsure. They were 16 year Olds when whatever happened, happened so I don't know who cou...

A Little Bully Never Hurt Anybody

Image
So, I was entirely convinced that I would end up DNFing this book but I started it anyway. It definitely did not end up in the DNF pile. There are few authors who can handle bully correctly. Sometimes they go over board with the bully and make you completely hate the guy that we're supposed to eventually want with the heroine. Well not in this book.  SJ Shen walked this live perfectly!! We were able to understand the brokenness that was Vicious and understand why he was the way he was towards Emilia. This allowed us to follow her emotional journey of hating him and even living him. The dual POV was done perfectly here as well. I have no bad comments really about this book.  I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to reading now about the other hotholes!!        The spice in this book was mind blowing!! The first scene was a little meh but afterwards whew. Written perfectly and don't be surprised if you break out some ahem... help after readi...

The Unexpected

Image
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for giving an honest review! I enjoyed this book! It's been awhile since I read a book with some Greek Mythology in it so that was a throw back to simpler times for me. I will say that right around the middle it became a little bit obvious how things were going to play out but there was still some things that were unknown. I really want to know more about Athena and how she was able to fall in love and have a child. I'm hoping that there will be more of an explanation in the next book! After seeing the painting in the Claire's house, I'm ready to see where Mellie can go because right now she may not be strong but she's not weak. She doesn't know how to use her powers as of yet but oh when she does...she will be a force. It was very sad seeing what happened to her parents but watching her get to see who they were and how much they loved her was beautiful. As a mom myself I was able to relate to those moments so m...

Beautiful Endings

Image
This book had such a gorgeous ending! Even though I knew that these two ended up together but it still didn't prepare me for how beautiful their story was!! This is going to be a double review! I am going to also talk about Ties the Season since this wraps up things with both of these series! I was slightly spoiled because at the end there was supposed to be a scene that made us think that the Jaxon might have died but of course since we've read the Savage Love duet already we know that he lived. Even knowing that I still felt Cameron's pain when she woke up in the hospital and had no idea if Jaxon was alive or dead. This book takes you through the emotional gamet and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this series to others.      The spice in this book was very nice especially once Jaxon and Cameron got back together. I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5. Overall this book was a very nice read. I enjoyed seeing how things played o...

Romeo & Juliet Gets Dark

Image
This book has to be in my top 10 so far for this month...I'd even venture so far as to say for the year so far. It was so good!! This was retelling that I enjoyed from beginning to end!! I didn't want to put this down after I started it!! I highly recommend Rose and Roman's story!! I will preface this by saying that there is definitely a lot of triggers in this book. It is probably darker than the original in that Rose goes through so much more than the original Juliet does. Abuse from all sides and it just hurts to read. Her family are some of the worst people that I have read in a book. I won't spoil anything with them because there was someone who I thought was on her side but turned out to be worse than some of the others that I thought were bad. I really wanted Rose to get some backbone. She was definitely the definition of a damsel in distress but you can't blame her after seeing how she grew up and what she's delt with in life. There...

Finding Love

Image
I am a stop of Stevie Sparks, Romance Me With Books tour!! This book was kinda your typical historical romance while also not being typical. When most people think of historical romance, we're thinking like 1700-1800s or even earlier. This book takes place during the early 1900s. Which was interesting because they had some modern things while still being old. Hearing about the maid using a vacuum cleaner definitely had me smirking! I guess you'd also title this book a forbidden romance in modern times but I believe that this situation was actually quite common during this time. Brother in laws and sister in laws marrying to keep someone or something safe that is.     The interesting part of this book was the it was the MMC who was in love with the FMC who had no idea about the love. Watching the feelings blossom between Emmeline and Michael was definitely beautiful. There are tons of triggers in this book that you should check before ...
