The Silence Lies

Image
Hmm...I had high hopes for this book going in.  It's rare that you see someone write a female Don in mafia. So I was excited to see how this was going to be done and...I didn't like it. I didn't like it because it didn't feel like she had any power. She kept repeating it and those around her kept repeating it but she didn't believe it and neither did I. This also didn't have the feel of a mafia book. Like, everyone was so tied up in everyone that it didn't seem like she ever did Mafia things. It felt like an afterthought to send her to her clubs which apparently were always empty. She's never conducting any deals except when it comes to dealing with revenge. It just didn't give mafia. Luca and Levi getting together also felt kinda like outta left field. It was so random and abrupt that I literally looked at the book like wtf. Like 2 straight men just randomly kissed during an arguement. Then they easily kinda just flowed into being wi...

Demon's Deal

This is going to be a short review because I don't like to bash an authors hard work. This book just really wasn't for me. It was advertised as being spicy and I guess if you only read YA then this would be considered spicy but it definitely was the furthest thing from spicy. I did not like this book. It took me awhile to get through it and after awhile I ended up skipping pages upon pages of the book because it felt like reading filler. The most interesting thing about this book was the story behind what happened to Calla. I was definitely invested in figuring out why she was taken and her memory was wiped. It was a nice reveal at the end but it being the cause of their tension at the end just didn't really hold water for me. I was interested in Magnus and Vaggo by that point. I'm tempted to see if we get more from them.      The spice was nothing to write home about. It was definitely there but I feel like the author didn't really w...

Slash or Pass- ARC Review!

Image
This book was mysterious as all get out. Even though the pieces start slowly falling into place, things don't fully take shape until closer to the end.  I enjoy books that have such a pure mysteriousness about them and this one definitely did that. A small town that is haunted by a terrible past..... well not really haunted since the people there don't really seem to care and allow those responsible to continue. Still a small town gets a little taste of what they have allowed to happen. The culprits have to balance their fear of being caught with their love of family... if they even have that. All in all I enjoyed this book! The slasher vibes manage to come across nicely and the characters are engaging.      As for the spice, it was ok. It definitely could have been a little more spicy. I did like what was there but it didn't like revv the engine you know. The potential was there but it just was a little out of reach. I give the spice ...

Wonder Light - RMWB Tour!!

Image
Formalities first, I was given the opportunity to read this book as part of Tina Spencer's tour with Romance Me With Books!! Next I just want to say, as someone who has traveled to Scotland, when the places in this book were mentioned I was taken straight down memory lane. If you ever get the opportunity to visit Scotland then you should definitely do it!! It is breathtakingly beautiful. Ok love of the country aside, this book was a very thorough story. And I say that in a way to mean, you go on the emotional journey with the characters. They don't instantly fall in love and you can almost physically TOUCH their emotions. You can see the journey that they both go on, as individuals and as a couple. I enjoy stories like this one because it's a ride. Everything makes sense, there is no guessing.      The spice in this book when it finally happened was really good as well. You were right there with rhe characters with the build up and yo...

Haze- ARC Review

Image
I want more!! I can't say enough, I love books that suck you in and make you feel completely wrapped up in the book. This book definitely did that. I loved getting to understand Lena more. We got a glimpse of who she was in Smoke but in Haze?!?!?!?! Omg we get more of everyone!! I also love series that keep the previous couple involved in the book in a way that makes sense. I mean everything was right there for you as the reader to enjoy and man did I enjoy it. I don't wanna spoil anything so I won't go deep but just know that this book is worth it and more!! The author has already let us know that there will be a book 2 for Lena and Finn. We need it. I just feel like there is more to what is going on with them and everyone else that will be explained in the next book. And man that cliffy!!! Whew, I thought some of the other books I've read had crazy cliff hangers but this one...whew. I literally kept tapping on my kindle screen because I was looking fo...

Am I A Furry?

Image
I finally decided to take the plunge and start this series. This book was really good and I felt so much for Elise. She has so much happening and to see her experience moments of pure happiness was the most rewarding part of this book. As for the men, whew, I really want to continue this series just to see how she is able to resolve the fact that two of the men are mortal enemies. How are they going to come to terms with each other? They are mortal enemies and their families have hated each other for generations!! The others I can see getting along just because but generational enemies?!?!?! That right there is enough to make me want to finish the series. There are so many things that are thrown in here that I'm like, GIVE ME MORE!! I have to know what's going on! The principle, what's his deal because I just feel like he's involved some how. Felix Oscura, who does he want dead enough to involve Ryder? Who is the King? Is it Cindy Lou? Is the name there t...
