Blood of Two Crowns - Review

Image
This book had a lot going on. The story is definitely there and interesting with how everyone is somehow connected to each other. However, there is so much happening. I wish that some of it was spaced out a little more. Let us breath in the events that just happened before something else happened. We also don't really get the opportunity to dislike someone. Zurie gets some time in this book, Keres gets some time and Azrael as well, which makes it hard to strongly dislike them when we see them do bad things to our MCs. Who do you root for in situations like this? It made it feel like less of the story of our MCs and more of a story of this world. Which I'm ok with, it was just a big change from the first book where we were mainly with the MCs and viewed the world through their eyes. I would like to get to the next book to see how things wrap up for some of the characters that we encountered in this book. Things are not settled in the realms and I can't wait to see if we get...

December - Wrap Up '25

December was a great month, reading-wise for me. I was able to get through 16 books! I mean compared to some of the last few months this was insane! I was am proud of myself! I am hoping that this trend will continue! Although this month has definitely shown me that I really like PNR and fantasy unless it's mafia/crime/dark contemporary romance. The need for escapism is apparently real with me lol. I have started to pull back some on the ARCs. I am very big on going with the flow and sometimes, the window that authors give can be too short for me. However, if you have an ARC in need of reading and will have it available more than 2 weeks before release, I'm your girl! These books this month have almost felt cathartic. From crying over a great love lost (TWICE) to the excitement of one of my favorite series getting closer to the end. This month was one of the books...literally. Let's see what I was able to read this month!               ...

The Ippos King - Review

Image
Out of the trilogy of books, I think this one was probably the weakest. I enjoyed seeing Seravek and Amnhuset get together but the journey there was long!! We took many a detour on our quest to see these two together. From getting chased by residual Galla to getting kidnapped by mercenaries and a jealous king, we were everywhere! These two are definitely not a couple to be messed with. They are both battle hardened warriors who didnt fail to fight off many obstacles in this book. I think the only reason this one felt weak is that there felt like so much more that could have been answered.  Will Megiddo stay imprisoned with the Galla despite haunting the living Wraith Kings? If they do get back together to attempt to free him, what does that mean for the rest of the kingdoms? Can they even become the Kings again? Like I have questions!! They dropped the rarity of children being born to mixed couples and then left my mouth catching flies when that wasn't explored!! I'...
